This guy starts by saying that the prices of homes is so high for economic reasons like lack of supply. Then 5 minutes later he says “I don’t really see this housing shortage that everyone is talking about. There’s homes for sale in my area all the time.â€
Soinstead of investing my 100,000 dollars in a down-payment and be a home owner, I should rent a 2,200 a month apartment I never have a chance to own. In just 4 years I have invested my 100,000 dollar down-payment into the endless pit of rent with no return?
I’d love to know what this guy’s definition of “affordable†is. Also, what neighborhoods has he been to.

If you rent, you are paying for upkeep, HOA fees, taxes and the mortgage. The landlord takes your money and pays all those expenses

Most people probably can afford to own a home, just not a single family detached. There are so many other kinds of housing that cost a lot less money. My townhouse is $150k less than my neighbors in their single family house and we both have about the same amount of square footage inside
