The House Transportation and Infrastructure aviation subcommittee is holding a hearing to address air travel safety concerns. Boeing has received public and regulatory scrutiny following a major equipment failure in January, when a door panel became detached while a Boeing 737 Max 9Â was flying over Oregon.
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) chief Mike Whitaker will testify before the panel, and is expected to make a commitment to close oversight of Boeing, including the deployment of additional departmental resources to the investigation.
