The House Homeland Security committee on Thursday morning will hold a hearing on the impeachment of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Some republicans have repeatedly said that Mayorkas is derelict in his duty to manage the border, it’s not clear that is an impeachable offense or even a legal term outside its use in the military.
GOP members have also accused Mayorkas of lying to Congress — a claim that largely rests over testimony he’s given where he’s maintained the government has operational control of the border, which the GOP disputes.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST.
