No stakeholder-based global governance system comes close to matching the democratic legitimacy of a citizen-based and nation-state-based governance system, says Harris Gleckman, who advocates three alternatives to the current corporate-driven multi-stakeholder system and its self-selected global governors

  1. Corporations show their disdain for their product consumers with ads that show that them as being stupid (like the insurance company one where a female [of course] makes bad choices just to earn some small annual monetary prize) or the candy company that responds to criticisms of using material from child / slave labor & disease causing additives with the slogan "Not Sorry".

  2. The financial elite have a cynical view of the individuals of the general population to manage their own prospective situations which the financial elite have managed to make count as nothing more than a credit score. Deprived of any ability to participate in an actual democracy our self-worth is eroded away to little more than the same willfullness for material possessions as criminals.

  3. We HAVE a new form of global governance. It's based on the venerable, five hundred-year-old European models, of colonialism, exploitation, and private ownership. The difference now is there are no national interests, only corporate interests, driving the system. Davos is a lavish cocktale party for the global elites to give themselves positive strokes and to asert their supremacy. We are finished if we give Davos even a glancing look as an answer to anything.

  4. Gleckman is correct in criticising Davos, but contributes to the confusion. The obligatory first step towards saving humanity is a democratically governed national state. Above national states there should only be negotitated peacefull cooperation. Without functioning democracies benefiting the citizens on the national level, global level governance is just a toxic fantasy.

  5. Pollution is a legitimate issue but Climate change is another, I am tired of hearing about this "Climate Change" nonsense which is simply the re-branding of the "Global warming"… "Carbon Tax'.. Banker cash grab nonsense. The only "Man made Climate Change" are the Chem-trails known as Geo-Engineering, Weather Modification, solar management crap that is actually Chemical & Biological warfare on the people. This is UN Agenda 21 in motion. Its time that "Real news" stops regurgitating the official government issued scripts & starts reporting real news.

  6. It seems to me that the global governing body should be the civilian representative body. Multinational influence of commercial entities has been far too destructive to be allowed to continue. Their influence over military actions in the last 100+ years is empirical proof.

  7. I completely disagree with your so called solution. We have a government that should be upholding our Constitution and NEVER let CORPORATIONS make any rules or regulations. This is the very reason that our Constitution exists. The constant erosion of our freedoms are the result of allowing these groups of rich and connected to over ride our laws and call for global governance. We need to destroy these groups before they destroy us. Our government is corrupt to the core because is is full of ex corporate pirates that care only about getting richer and obtaining more power. Now you can see what this has done to our country. Civil war may be the only option we have left if this continues.

  8. 1) detain them for their crimes 2) charge and sentence them, like anyone else 3) incarcerate them according to law, for designated length of prison time

  9. Being nice not going to cut it. Corporate been using private security for 125 140 years.with no repercussions. We're going to have to get down in dirty. Crush Corporate. That will take some blood shedding. Like they do to us. When we protest.

  10. In a real democracy (that consists of educated people) the super wealthy would be stripped of all their money. Luckily for them they have been cutting education and also control the media and the institutions. They therefore won't have to worry.
