On January 23, 2022, Forsyth County Deputies rushed to an apartment complex in Cumming, Georgia, following reports of disturbing screams and loud noises echoing from one of the units.
Deputies repeatedly knocked on the door, but no response came from within.
Concerned neighbors confirmed the unsettling sounds from the apartment upstairs.
Faced with the possibility of an escalating situation, deputies made the decision to employ force and break into the apartment.
After a few forceful kicks, a man opened the door. The deputies took control of the situation, placing him in handcuffs and ensuring the safety of all involved.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were summoned to provide assistance.
Inside the apartment, a female explained to the officers that the disturbance arose from a disagreement – the man’s unwarranted advances were met with her firm refusal, sparking a series of heated arguments.
Both individuals were subsequently transported to the hospital for further evaluation. the male was charged with simple battery: family violence, possession of a schedule one controlled substance, and obstruction
