A lot of people are getting emails from companies like Costco and Best Buy that want them to take a survey. But who are these emails really from and what’s the catch? In this video I’ll go down the rabbit hole and show you what I learned!

I talk about Privacy.com in this video. They have a great service that lets you create one-time use cards where you can set the amount.

I also reference fakespot.com which is a plugin for your browser that rates customer reviews. I find it extremely helpful when shopping online.

  1. Yeah they would pull the scam on me telling me if I did this survey I would get like a $20 Walmart card and the survey would go on and on and then next thing you know you got all these people calling you and sending you advertisements which leads me to believe all I want to do is get information they can turn around and sell to other people

  2. Same thing happened to me only it was a backpack. They signed me up for approximately $57 a month. And I had to fight it with my bank and I never got the backpack. I told them to stop taking money out of my account and they did stop. I should have known something was fishy when they wouldn't accept PayPal. I always like to use that to put a buffer between my card numbers and the scammers.

  3. I tried to purchase two ramps to make it easier on my husband if he needed to work under the car. The add said a well-known store was going out of business so the ramps would cost less than they normally would. When the ramps didn't show up, I checked out all they information and nothing matched up. I hear the only way to protect yourself when you've been scammed is to freeze your accounts at all three credit bureaus.

  4. Thanks for exposing this! I received a message online from “Google” asking me to complete a survey with a chance to win some nifty prizes. It has the same format, with a timer and positive comments from contest winners. These surveys are definitely fraudulent.

  5. Hi, I am based in Cape Town South Africa and I received some random message on whatsapp, they are offering me an online job and I just played along but I am pretty sure it's scam , as I am writing to you they have sent me a link to click so that I can start the task but I am toi cautious I can't click on the link.
I would like to sgare the link with you so that you can mess with them

  6. I won’t give my credit card no to any one even legit companies and if an Indian accent is present I tell them to phuk off its back fired on me a couple of times but I told the manager nota good idea to have someone with an accent ask for personnel details it seems like they are all at some kind of scam. So just tell them take a long walk of a short plank

  7. I know this is an old video, but I had a run in with a company like this when I was about 20 (which is now about 20 years ago) I ordered what I thought was a Morgan silver dollar off by calling in an 800 number from an infomercial (it wasn't clear at all at the time, but it was a replica silver clad coin) and they signed my credit card up for a monthly subscription. I must've paid like 6-7 months before I called them back up and they said it was a subscription to get a discount on a large selection of items. I asked them to send me the catalog so I could see if I wanted to keep the subscription but I wanted them to cancel it in the meantime and he refused to send me the catalog if I canceled. So I told him OK, cancel it then. So strange

  8. I would think it be better an more profitable to not send anything and just run away with the card info idk why even bother to do all that

  9. Is it on this channel? Then I’m game assume it is a scam lol.

Although I don’t trust many of this guys sponsors but that’s a different story
