In this video I test Seafoam in a Honda Civic Si. I use a mini borescope camera to look into the engine and see how dirty the engine is before the fuel treatment and then after the fuel treatment.
I followed the instructions on the container and seafoam did a great job cleaning a good amount of carbon off the piston head. I am impressed by the results and finally we have proof that seafoam actually works!

Neighbours going to loooooove this lol. Btw can it be used on turbo engines?
Anyone still here, will this work for a 2014 hyundai accent gls? Do i need to rev to same rpms?
Would like to see how it effect the valves 😊
If Chris Fix said its good…then I will use Sea Foam!
11,000 miles Civic si wow
I Sea foamed my car. The only thing I got me was a speeding ticket from driving aggressively.
Smoke is good… add it to the oil crankcase before an oil change, add it to the gas and definitely suck it through the vacuum brake booster… that's the triple threat against build up in your engine
It works great if you are running a 2 stroke motor
I want to see the before and after of the valves. If you can get a camera that’s able to look up at the top of the cylinder or even just snake one into the intake and exhaust manifolds.
What about forced induction? Still go into intake ?
U never want to Rev or engein or drive like that bro..wow
Added 20 ounce can to 4 gallons of gas left in gas tank….ran the car to empty…added a 16 ounce can and 2 gallons of gas….ran the car to empty.
Conclusion: Snake oil elixir in a can…the seafoam did absolutely nothing to improve the rough idle….big waste of money and time.
Do not rev engine your taxing an unloaded engine scars the shit out of cylinder heads horrible for rings and bearings to much abuse! Your not a Teck just a ya who?
That’s a decarbonisation not a gas additive of coarse it works better I like bg kits
Just run 93 in it and go for a hard spirited drive all the time. Those pistons will stay clean
There aren't new deposits in cylinder four. So much of that plateau of junk was removed, that what you're looking at as new is really just all that's left of what was, and the surface underneath.
Did this with an old suburban that had 250K miles on it with the 7.4L big block, smoked out my whole damn neighborhood, you could see the literal plume from a mile away.
Years ago, I did this and later had my catalytic converter fail. I've always wondered, did the carbon that was released clog the cat? Or was it coincidence?
vtec kick in yo🤩
Not impressed in this product
I don't see any difference. It seems worse, if anything
Chris if i didnt want to spray into throttle body on my 2010 V6 Accord, could i spray instead into the brake booster vac line? Its easier for me .
Thoughts?
YO ITS A VTEC!
How did you rev it while spraying it?
Did anyone else catch Chris using the force on those bottles??
I see some differences but what is the image of the catalytic converter before and after?
In the 1970's we had a similar, amazing carbon cleaner we would spray down the carb while revving parked in the driveway. Water. It's still in use today by us remaining old-timers.
What people fail to realize is that running these cleaners thru your engine to clean intake, valves and injectors is doing damage to your catalytic converters. All that grime and gunk has to pass thru the very fine honey comb mesh in your cats, or DPF in diesels, this will plug them faster than anything. Sometimes its just better to leave the gunk in the motor because most cars and trucks today have 4 cats and to replace all 4 could be more expensive then just rebuilding or replacing a motor.
Look at the can, it says it contains Isopropyl alcohol…literally rubbing alcohol….alcohol evaporates very quickly and is replaced with water…..not something you want in your motor.
Have you ever put your scope in the 02 sensor hole after doing this? Would be cool to see if any of the carbon broke off and got stuck in the catalytic converter
Lol😂
What's works for me is a oil separator to reduce oil to the intake manifold and valves on my GDI engine.
Why pay like $10 for seafoam when you can just go to the ocean and get it for free???? Sheeple
Rad
have you tested amsoil?
Nice
I had to take the upper and lower intake off my wife's engine to do a repair, noticed it was dirty. Ran K&N cleaner through it.
Had to take the intake off again s week later, I fucked up the repair 😂 and was re repairing it, and noticed that everything looked a lot cleaner inside lol
Am i seeing this correctly? The before and afters are unimpressive. Theres almost no change. Why is everyone praising this? Im not saying its hurting rhe engine but it didnt remove much carbon AT ALL.
I live in California and cannot wait to try it. Im sure as soon as the car starts smoking at the exhaust the neighbors will be calling the carbon police to come out and arrest me and have my truck impounded.
Thanks for a great video!
I Chris love what you do. I was wondering have you ever tried a injector cleaning kit? The one that you leave on the car and use air compressor to push out the fuel injection cleaner
Looks worse.
Does this work on turbo diesel engines
