Sullivan reportedly had a conversation with Netanyahu about a new phase of war against Hamas.
White House officials stressed that Sullivan did not specify a timetable during talks.
Meanwhile, Israel continues its aggressive campaign against Hamas in both northern and southern Gaza as calls for a ceasefire intensify.
