  1. I have a Brand New LiftMaster and my 2008 Chevy Impala does not connect to it.. I clear it and I tried everything in description and I get nothing.. I then hit learn and NOTHING .. I am so lost…My buick hooks up fast and easy…Any other recommendations

  2. Took forever to figure this out on my new Range Rover. Simply press and hold button 1 and 3 until it flashes amber and Homelink will reset! Then just program with the garage door opener. Thank you!!!

  3. Thanks. Your video made my try an older liftmaster garage opener FOB that had an amber light instead of red. That one worked!!! Red must be the newer versions.

  4. Thanx very much glad this was still posted. Its all about the buck. bought several remotes trying to get pared. was SOL until I found this post Homelink RPTR is now $42.00 on Amazon as of 3/24

  5. Still applicable today!!! I couldn’t figure out why my truck never connected and I used a different remote and it worked no problem!’ Thanks for the info!

  6. Putting this here to help others in 2023+.

I have a 2010 Land Rover and a 2013 Elantra. I installed a new Chamberlain side mounted garage door opener in 2020 and had to buy the Homelink Repeater to get the vehicle’s Homelink to work with the new garage door opener. It worked great.

Then we moved in 2023. I brought my Homelink Repeater with me to the new house and installed a new side mounted garage. I setup my existing Homelink Repeater and no dice.

I called Homelink and they said due to a lawsuit by Genie that Chamberlain lost they had to change the algorithm they were using in their new garage door openers in 2022.

Any existing Homelink Repeaters do not support this new 2022+ algorithm.

Homelink released a new version of their Homelink Repeater in 2022 that supports 2022+ garage door openers from Chamberlain.

This new unit has a model number of RPTRMC. The “MC” suffix indicates this new version.

I threw out my old version and purchased this new one and it worked perfectly first try.

I hope that helps at least one other person from losing their mind. 🙂

  7. Thank you for the video. Buying the Chamberline Homelink Bridge/Repeater (855LM-C) resolved the problem.
My scenario. 20 year old Liftmaster garage door had worked with a 2019 vehicle but not with a 2024 vehicle. Following the documented process for pairing Liftmaster to Homelink with the 2024 vehicle looked good but ultimately failed to complete setup process. Installed the Bridge/Repeater following the simple instructions worked first time with 2024 vehicle!

  8. It turns out in my case, my problem is the remote I have is NOT the original that came with the opener. It's a Liftmaster 893 Max I bought later, and it's unable to program my Toyota's Homelink. A garage door company helped me by using one of their original remotes.

  9. I have been trying to reset my Homelink on my Pilot. Found the homelink "remote" in my drawer but won't open garage. Threw it back in the drawer until I watched you video. Thank you Sir!

  10. You mention that the reason is due to the age of the LiftMaster remote prior to 2016. Could I just purchase a newer LiftMater remote? My local hardware stores do not carry the homelink adaptor. Thanks!

  11. Hmm. Looks like I’ll just be using the remote instead. What a goofy “fix” they did. Do you have to keep the Homelink remote in the car?

  12. Thank you a video with the right answers, I can give up now. I tried programing with three different remotes and homelink wouldn’t grab the code. BTW it’s a Liftmaster security gate.

  13. Just installed the garage door and I'm learning I have to throw an extra $40 so it can work…with one of my cars . 😒
    Thanks for the info

  14. Hey just another idea. Same opener, same system, same problem… but came to another solution that worked.
This took some trial and error, but worth a shot.

    1. Be far away from the garage door with the opener. Far enough that the programmed remote wouldn’t open the door.
    2. Program your homelink mirror using the normal process.
    3. Code accepted, return home and follow steps inside the garage to “learn” the new code (yellow button).
    4. Press the homelink button in the vehicle to complete.

Not sure how or why this works, but it did for me.

  15. This is atupid! I have multiple garage doors and I need one of these foe each door. Ridiculous. Guess I'll just use the remote opener and not set it up with the buttons built into my car.

  16. I have two doors and my home link didn’t work with my 2013 f150. Way cheaper to just not use home link and buy a $15 lift master remote be two repeaters.

  17. But it was working before so I don't know why it's not working now. I've gotten so frustrated that now the button is pressed inward on the homelink button however the lights are still appearing as normal but I cannot get it to reset to the garage door opener which is a craftsman.
