Learn how to change your motor oil on any car. I am working on a Chrysler PT Cruiser. Anyone with the tools listed in the beginning of the video can do this. It is a good way to save some money and make sure the job is done properly. Changing oil is basic maintenance that every car needs. Every 5000 miles an oil change needs to be done. You change the oil with the oil recommended in your owners manual as well as an oil filter.

Hey Chris, what is the best first car??
My son just turned 15 and is getting ready to learn to drive, what would you recommend?
Hey ChrisFix, what would you recommend as a first car? Thought I’d refer to the professional before making my choice ðŸ‘
I would expect to see microfiber towel from you Chris haha

Good 👠video cool 😎
🔥🔥💙💙💙💪ðŸ¾ðŸ˜¤
Who's watching in 2022?
I didn’t even know I clicked on a Chrisfix video. I’m used to hearing HEY GUYS CHRISFIX HERE!
2021
Nice
@Chrisfix I turned the oil filter on my car as tight as you did here. Heard the filter groan. Got scared and had to back it off a little. Small leak around the lip where the oil filter contacts the block. Nothing is running down the filter. Do you think I damaged the filter? Should I tighten it to the point where it started groaning again and see if the oil lip residue stops?
Wow back when the LEGEND had self esteem issues🤣🤣………. Now he instills confidence in the world 🌎 thanks man!!!!!
Oldie but a goodie!! ðŸ‘
That long pause and I didn’t hear Hey guys
Hi Man thank you for all the videos with all the hacks and tricks.. I have a 2006 toyota with oil consumption issue I have changed my pcv , added seafoam to the crankcase and spark plug holes but still drinking oil the problem is clogged oil holes on the pistons . And toyota is aware of the issue .. rebuilding the engine is not worth is as the car has 160k .. any advise will be greatly appreciated
Thank you
1:05 You said "regular not synthetic" as if it is a good thing!
It's not.
Who's here In 2021?
Yea
Do you need to put your car up on a ramp?
ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘
At some point, I'd be interested in hearing why you switched from Bosch oil filters and why you picked Purolator (vs. Wix or OEM, for example). Same re: your views on copper vs. iridium plugs. In this video, you seemed not to prefer synthetic oil; curious about that too.
Any legends watching in 2020 hit that like button
Can't believe it's the same Chris 🙂 So much more relaxed
First oil change video
Over the years Chris has become more enthusiastic and he has learnt what his tools are
The reason I love the channel so much is because he responds to old comments from years ago on every video and takes time to appreciate the people he inspires to get out and work on their own cars! Love the channel man!
The first oil change video that Chris made..
There is no "hey guys chrisfix here!" BUT I STILL LUV IT :V
My son says "If the oil filter is in sideways at the bottom of the engine, you will still get to prefill your oil filter without making a mess, but you just can't fill it up all the way. You only won't be able to prefill the oil filter without making a mess if it is at the top of the engine (upside down). You made a video very recently just 1 day ago and you showed me that the oil filter is in sideways and you still preoiled the filter not to the full line, so you can still do it."
My dipstick is heavily marked with oil up to the max line, meaning between the min and Max the oil on the dipstick is darker, while it's faintly showing above the max line, does that mean it's just about to much oil? And I should remove a bit?
As well I'm assuming if I checked the engine when it's cold it's fissure going to be over when it's warm the engine?
Lastly when adding oil after an oil change, am I supposed to add less being that the engine has some remannance of the old oil still stuck around the engine?
If so why would the manufacturer recommends 6.4q when doing an oil change?
I have a 1997 Toyota Camry and my work requires highway driving and backroads mix. I try to change the oil every 3,000 miles but I will push it to 3,500 miles max before change if my work week has a lot of highway driving. My engine setup does not allow me to pre fill my oil filter so I have to put 3.7 quarts of high mileage 5w-30 let’s just say 4 quarts since cars do burn oil. 3.5 quarts if you decide to prefill the oil filter but you will make a mess due to how Toyota designed their 4 cylinder engine so don’t pre fill the filter. Just oil up the O-ring. After 4 quarts, I always have a quart left since my car burns oil due to age and it has over 200,000 miles. Hope this helps someone.
Hey chrisFix I got questions when you change your oil then next time you change how you know when you supposed change it if you do it yourself
Wow los primero videos
Awwww q recuerdos T-T
I like this calmer chris fix
I m watching this video in 2019 😂😂😂
I use silicone grease on the rubber seal…just like Cessna Aircraft requires on their aircraft oil filters. Don't over tighen the filter…if you have to use a wrench to get the filter off..you over tighten the filter.
Had to start the video over to make sure I didn't skip the "Hey Guys!" Lol. Great video but I love his enthusiasm in his newer videos
I like how you have move up, and upgraded. From this videos 8 years ago to now. "Hey Guys, ChirFix Here"
Good Work Chris.
