Recharge your AC system properly. I go though all of the steps on how to safely charge your air conditioning system with refrigerant. First you need to evacuate the system, then pull a vacuum, and then add the correct amount of refrigerant based on weight.

  1. I'm about to do this on my Jeep Renegade. Ordered the pump and gauge set form Autozone (They said I could return them after use as Rentals). Got a pretty solid deal on 32oz of R1234. With any luck I won't mess it up lol.

  3. when the a/c gauges are hooked up , should there be suction at on the yellow line when your start to add R134 ? I am a newby and I might have done something wrong. not sure. just noticed when I took the can of R134 off air blew out of the yellow line pretty hard.

    One more question: When you are refilling you have only opened the low side valve right? how the indicators show both side preasure? Is it not needed open the high side value to show its preassure value? Or else it anyway shows the preassure value … only when opened connect with yellow tube?

  6. Some systems can be damaged if you flip the canister upside down and introduce liquid refrigerant directly to the system. I Have a new "vintage" system from classic auto air in my 65 mercury and was advised to keep the canister upright the entire time to only allow the system to accept gas. Apparently can damage the reeds or seize the compressor. Takes a long time but the canister empties eventually.

  7. Hey Chris great video! My condenser has a pretty major leak – found it by adding the UV dye just like you explained. One question though – I'm going to have to add oil when I replace the condenser. If I pour the oil in the vacuum line and then purge the line before adding the freon will that no blow my oil out of the line?

  8. this is the old way may work may not. if you dont use a micron gauge you will never know if its dry or not. you are only assuming, get and learn with a micron gauge you will be amazed at what your missing

  9. I may try to do it on a c4 vette
    they say water may be trapped so if there is liquid water the pressure will go up after a while upon using the vacuum, basically would act as a leak, then you would need to try again and it should be fine after all water evaporates. not sure if it ever happens to have liquid water inside 😂

  10. Ma man!! Excellent video. So after replying the compressor, should I pull a moisture vacuum before or after I add the oil through the yellow line. I see some videos on here actually suck the oil through the yellow hose.

  11. I did a vacuum on 2012 civic ( i replaced the schrader valve) but the vacuum move from 30 micron to 10 and stayed there i live in arizona peoria city, is that movement does not matter?

  12. Another video said to never open the high side valve on the manifold itself, but you opened it. Why would that other guy say not to?

  13. What are the risk of not vacuum after an accident and replacing the condenser? My dad used to just pump in the freon and we never had any issue but just want to know. Also, the last time I took one of my cars to fill in freon after a condenser replacement the shop only did the vacuum for 5 mins.

  14. hello i have got a mitsubishi pajero 1991 NH GLS ECI-MULTI V6 3000 and i have looked everywhere in the engine, area, and i could not find a high pressure point, to connect the hose to. I found only one, point, blue/green in colour…. that was it, are all vehicles supposed to have TWO pressure sides? Low and hi?

  15. I’m having difficulty i am at the part where you purge the line of air right before you turn the vehicle on. My adapter doesn’t seem to be piercing the refrigerant can? I’ve tried on both cans and neither can seem to be pierced. I tried screwing it onto the can tighter but it wouldn’t go any more and then i tried screwing the needle in more to try and drive it into the can but it wont screw in anymore 🤷🏽 should i try a new adapter or should i try new refrigerant cans?

  17. Chris question: my low port cap and High port cap are the same and I can swap them. Is it correct ? I have a traverse 2014 and I cannot see the leaking. I changed the rear core by myself I put gas and nothing. Now I thing to replace front core is too difficult to me. Last week I put gas in the system and I there was a smell of leaking gas inside. I did not detected the leaking. I have a good leaking detector but I didn’t find anything yet.

  19. This is a perfect example of a deterioration of America. Something so simple and you overcomplicated thats y mechanics don't exist in america anymore
