How to SAFELY Install a Dash Camera in a Car with Airbags (Hard Wire and Rear Cam)

Learn how to hard wire a dash camera and rear camera in your car or truck. All modern cars have airbags and many people run the power wires to the dash camera incorrectly which can be dangerous. In this video I show you how to hardwire a dash camera in a truck and do a clean install using the factory cigarette lighter adapter in a car so all of the wires are hidden.

  2. You are the best. I now have the confidence to install my own dashcam and hardwire it in. Take care of yourself, that's most important. Glad you're back.

  3. THANK YOU CHRISFIX! I had watched some online videos for hiding the wires and while they discussed being careful with the car liner and running down the A-Pillar NONE of them mentioned the curtain air-bags. Sure enough, I had wired BOTH my cars as you illustrated as the WRONG way – where the camera wire would have impeded the deployment. After watching your video it only took me 30 minutes to properly pull off the A-Pillar inside moulding and correctly run and tether the camera wire to the factory harness in the A-Pillar – my curtain airbags are no longer impeded!

    THANK YOU AGAIN!

  4. FINALLY now I can continue my Chevy spark project ❤❤
One more thing idk why but my car ac fan making weird noise can you help me to fix it

  5. Thank you so much for coming back to the basics! I love your vids because of the attention to detail, smoothness of script, and thoroughness of instruction.

I have an '09 Civic that needs to last me at least another 5 years. So your videos have been incredibly helpful keeping Ol Bess a healthy gal. Cheers!

  6. My suggestion is to take a page out of Project Farm’s playbook and not accept sponsored items that way you don’t have any bias towards these dashcams.

  7. Can you build project car rally me and my freds are gone build but dont now sory for bad english am form croatia am have 13 years

  8. In almost all European countries this is illegal, and even if authorities need to file a complaint to prosecute anyone who has one (which rarely happens), the images count for nothing, they are considered a violation of privacy. It is possible for you to regulate your dashcam in Europe, but you need approval from the authorities, it is an expensive license to own and the images still do not serve as evidence.
To counter this, laws were created this year for new cars that require the recording of various vehicle parameters at the time of an accident, a "black box" but it's all software.
