I think it’s important to point out counterweights as a feature you should look for in a tool box. Most of us have been there, we’re usually very cognizant about closing the drawers in our box as we work, but you get distracted and end up with a few drawers open, then before you know it you go to open one more drawer and the entire box comes tumbling over. All that can be avoided with a quality counter weighted box
I know this video is 7 years old but this question is still relevant to this day. What size socket set do you buy? 1/4, 3/8 or 1/2? Is the 1/4 not strong enough for the majority of car mechanical work regarding torque?
Halfords advance is like a shitbox. Doesn't cost much but you can absolutely abuse it and it will just keep going
Hey Chris, any chance of a new version of this video? I'm just wondering if you are still using the same tools now?
ChrisFix, the tools you listed in the description look different then the ones you have in the video?
Where my Duralast Guys at?!?
I inherited all my dads tools he had eveything but a complete socket set cause he lost some of them
Who knew use yust a small nummber of useful toolllss…an Contre..,5 wwgonsvof tozsty still is unusefull
Started watching Chris because of how he says because
With wrenches and sockets, the millimetres are easy – just buy every one . But how picky do you have to get with SAE? My gut says get everything where the bottom fraction is 16, 8, 4 and 2, but how often do you need the 32nds in between?
Pressure wash on tools they look brand new 😂
If you ever have a stuck bolt do this: Get a PVC pipe and slide it over your wrench/ratchet, this basically converts your wrench/ratchet into a breaker bar, the PVC pipe gives you more leverage to break a bolt loose
Thanks!
Only buy a good tool once you break the cheap one. "Upgrade and replace"
Also, much like cars themselves, the best ones are the ones you dont own
My cousin just went in to have an oil change for $70.00. I told him bring his car to me and I'll change his oil for free if he pays for oil and filter. Changing your own oil will pay for a nice tool kit.
I was always told to start off with cheap tools and if you break one then replace it with a quality one.
Chris , your an inspiration to me. I love your videos and you scientific knowledge is excellent. I could only hope and strive to attain your expertise.
I wouldn't consider adjustable wrenches gimmicky lmao those are the goats.
If you can't find a tool, do you really own it? I'm so tired of loosing tools in plain sight.
hey chris great video, is there any possible way you could link a good beginner plier and screw driver set? just as you did for the wrench and socket set, thanks.
Dude said he wasn't being paid by any tool company. Then runs a promo for a company. Damn.
The majority of my handtools were bought by my great grandfather in the late 40s and early 50s lol and i never got to meet the man😂 they got used by him, my papaw, my dad and now i use them. I even got a folding stanley ruler/caliper with an ivory handle that my great great grandfather used in the late 1800s when he was young
Milwaukee. like my Honda accord with no oil in it for 6 months. you can put them trough heck and they will come out fine
What type of obd2 reader would you recommend ?
Cornwell tools ?
long needle nose pliers and an extension magnet are game changers. when something gets stuck or is hard to grab, those things will save your butt
Whatever tool & brand you buy, stay away from "made in China". Those are very bad quality. I've that experience.
Don't forget used tools. And ask for tools for Birthday and holiday gifts.
what do you think of husky? i just got a 270 pc set from them. i definitely like but haven’t been around too many tools 😅
