  1. To expand on WHY it was totaled: The cracked section of the car is on the actual frame/structure and not a piece individually offered by Chevrolet. Since the car couldn't be "put back to original" condition, as insurance typically promises after an accident, it was deemed a total loss.

  2. Its a vet! that crack will jusk keep getting worse and worse weld it and weld it and weld it. It will just keep getting worse intill you hit a pothole one day and the whole tire and control arm and the suspension rips off on the highway and it kills somebody! Why noone will touch that chev pos!

  3. I pick up so many Mercedes with salvaged titles for just rim and bumper cover damage it’s ridiculous. Last week I bought an older low mile s500 and had it delivered sight unseen. No check lights, it runs and drives well but had a terrible vibration over 60mph, they hit a pothole and damaged the 20inch rim, had new tires installed and didn’t notice, thinking it had unfound suspension or driveline damage it was totaled. I was going to give it to my brother but I’m thinking I’ll use it for an every day car.

  4. So a $70k car can get damaged with a small object on the road. I have seen many Corvettes go off the road meaning to say they should all be total ??? Or it poor quality/ design?????? In the future if I buy any used car I will have them put it on the lift for inspection.

  5. I live in Florida.
Corvette drivers drive slower than everyone…
Seriously you will find yourself having to change lanes to get around them!

  6. Tig welding that crack by a certified welder would be a snap. I use to tack weld aluminum parts for welders, that would be an easy fix, that car would be back on the road.

  7. On a C7 corvette the tray is considered apart of the frame! Frame damage = totaled. The manufacture removes the engineers safety certificate and the insurance company can no longer insure it. The car then has to be repaired and inspected by the state it is to be registered in.

  8. One of my customers hit a deer, driving a town car. Dead deer, and town car too. Sam, this is a good video, and you are speaking with wisdom. You are getting better.
