On October 7, 2023, FCSO deputies responded to the Walgreens store in Palm Coast, Florida after a woman left with a shopping cart full of items without paying for them.
Witnesses stated that she had also acted aggressively toward employees and customers before leaving and attempting to enter a vehicle in the parking lot.
Deputies located the woman as she walked on the sidewalk, pushing the shopping cart filled with stolen property.
They attempted to stop and speak with the suspect, later identified as 51-year-old Jennifer Sheffield, who immediately became aggressive towards them.
Deputies restrained Sheffield as she kicked, bit, and resisted them while being placed under arrest.
Walgreens employees identified Sheffield as the thief and retrieved the stolen items from the shopping cart.
Later, Walgreens decided not to prosecute Sheffield for Retail Theft but wanted her trespassed from the business.
Sheffield was arrested for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting Arrest with Violence.
