Lufkin police released video of an 18-wheeler’s brakes locking up, causing the truck’s trailer to swing toward officers and a bystander along the road.
The video shows the men, who were waiting for a tow truck, jump into the nearby woods for protection before the truck driver regains control.
The truck driver left the scene but was later tracked down. He reportedly told police he didn’t see them jump out of the way or he would have stopped to check on them.
There were no injuries, and police say no citations will be issued.
Police commended the truck driver for regaining control of his vehicle.

Pretty sure they need a shower and change of clothing.
The Slow and the Ponderous: Tokyo Drift
DEJAVU
I had a semi truck do that exact thing to me.
He had an empty pup on his ass end, and the entire damn thing skid right overtop my entire lane.
I steered my truck down into the ditch at 80km/h.
This is a serious problem that should be addressed.
If semi's are hauling empty trailers, they should go 2/3rds the speed limit or something.
That shit is scary.
FAST AND FURIOUUUUUS DRIFT DRIFT DRIFT 🎶🎶🎶
He's obviously going too fast for an unloaded trailer.
Nearly hits? am I the only one who realized how far they were from being hit and how easily it was for them to run to a safe distance.
They sure skidaddled it outta there . Like if your old enough to have heard this before
the cops hopped into that brush like warthogs.
Pro skills drifting right there.
Talk about near miss! I'm talking about the police car parked on the edge of the road, and the dinky sign! Two cops were smart and ran straight to the trees; one cop was dumb, running parallel to the road! Way to go Lufkin cops…
Is anyone here from 2020
My pants would have gone to brown town if I were there!
I used to do it with my dad's double axle trailers and dump trailers all the time with boatloads just f**** lock all the trailer tires up
Sittin sideways like that song
I love hitting the trailer brakes especially when I'm towing something or not even and you hit the trailer brakes and the trailer goes sideways on a turn you could use the trailer brakes on your rig or even what you're telling with a vehicle to slow you down and save your own brakes on your vehicle especially if you're renting a tow behind for a trailer or something to hook up to your vehicle it's fun
Hope they went after the trucker. Talk about unsafe.
Was a dangerous situation but i can't help laughing at the 2 who darted into the trees
Anyone else read "big nasty" rather than "big rig"?
Deja Vu!
Cops run into forest 🤣
Since we all survived that you are all free to go…
I dont see the problem here, big rig was obviously just drifting
Big Rig has probably some bad disc/drum brakes!!
Dominic Toretto was behind the wheel.
Pucker factor was real on this one. Big rigs can be scary.
Pussies
Haha, I love how the two cops dove into the brush
he is drifting for fuck sake
I think I woulda needed a moment to scoop the poo out of my undies after that one. Haha
THE TRAILER WAS NOT EVEN ON The side of the road that the chicken cops were on anyway, what a bunch of pussies Lufkin oinkers must be..
"oouup"… that's code for get the fuck out of the way!
This wasn't even worthy of posting. I've seen far worse at least once every 2 months for the pass 15yrs. I only looked at the video because Lufkin is my childhood hometown. I'm very disappointed I never get the 39 seconds back I used watching this and the 2 minutes I used to tell you how much I didn't like this shit.
Scary situation, happy no one was hurt…but kinda funny when he said "i thought we were goners man"
Yup I think he got a ticket.
crazy near miss
