Nashville, Tennessee  Body-cam footage from several officers shows the tense moments that preceded nine Tennessee cops opening fire on a man on an interstate. The man, who police said had been sitting on a guardrail on the busy roadway, died. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation identified the victim as Landon Eastep, 37. Eastep was killed after law enforcement officials tried to negotiate with him to drop the weapon for a half-hour on Thursday, police said. The footage, made public by the Metro Nashville Police Department, shows Eastep’s final moments as he ignores the pleas of officers – and then appears to pull an object from his pants and point it at them.

You hear him stop firing, and you can hear some extra bullets
The cop tried so hard. I feel for him
This cop was so good at negotiating I actually dropped my peanut butter and jelly knife.
I couldn't watch this all the way. This was just sad
WHA? "I GIVE YOU MY WORD, YOU WILL NOT GO TO JAIL TODAY?" .. like, in no world is that possible. That cop was straight up lying. Idiot.
Suicide by cop
So many cops and firearms against one knife. Is there no sharpshooter who can shoot te man in the legg(s) or taser him? Still I have lots of respect for the officer who tries to talk the man to give up.
Since 2 weeks ago, the channel PoliceActivity uploaded 7 videos in a row involving incidents of suspects being killed and pronounced deceased. That being said, there is surely a lot of videos in the channel PoliceActivity of where there’s fatalities involved.
That officer did an incredible job trying to resolve this. He must have some outstanding CISM training
Some of y'all in this comment section are horrible.
Let's go (home), Landon.
That’s so sad!
No tasers or bean bags for a knife
😂😂😂
I hate to be that guy, but those last 2 shots was literally execution style. The fuck is that? Officer says to ceasefire and someone shoots another 2 rounds? He's already incapacitated and clearly is no longer a threat, but you shoot the dude 2 more times (looks to be in the chest area) while he's laying there?
Dont tell me those were "mercy shots" because he may have survived those shots before the last two. And dont give me that "he was an active threat." bullshit neither, because he wasn't a threat anymore laying there.
Obvious that the officer doing the talking was speaking from the heart. I feel for law enforcement. The situations they get thrusted into are amongst the most unique and stressful and they catch so much hell for everything they do.
lol they kept shooting for a long time after he was down.
Why not using the taser, is has a wide range?
Do you know what the last thing that went through his head was? Lead
That's a hell of a cop. Good job buddy, but some folks just can't be helped.
Landen got what he wanted. Suicide by cop text Book
I cannot believe the cops of today hand control over to a deranged suspect!
THEY ARE OUT OF CONTROL!
YOU as a cop needs to arrest that as fast as humanly possible , for THEM!
The main officers hands were shaking while he was trying to talk him down. The officer was truly involved and did a lot to try and deescalate. Kudos to them
They tried.ðŸ˜â€
Bad decisions = 😵
"but god put me here so I could help you out today"… that would have got me to drop the knife…
Cop n therapist combo !!!
This officer is absolutely fantastic. They aren't tripping over each other verbally. They're shutting up a nd letting one officer control t he situation. He isn't repeating himself or getting stuck in verbal loops. He's appealing to him by name, on a personal level. This officer did everything you would want in a situation like this.
He was right. He didnt go to jail.
