The following video is a joint release Critical Incident of the Grass Valley Police Department and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. Personnel from both agencies were involved in an officer involved shooting on January 1st, 2020 in unincorporated Nevada County in the 10000 block of Walker Drive. Nevada County Regional Dispatch received reports of a man walking on Squirrel Creek Road with a shotgun. He was later identified as 25-year old Gabriel Strickland. Upon arrival, deputies and officers ordered Mr. Strickland to drop the weapon. He did not comply. Mr. Strickland pointed the weapon in multiple directions including at officers and deputies as they approached. Following the incident, it was determined the shotgun was, in fact, an Airsoft weapon that mimicked the appearance of a shotgun.

They always comply after getting shot. I guess that's the only time common sense kicks in.
Who's the genius officer that decided to try and bop the armed suspect with a baton??
This was a fatal shooting. His last words may have been, "I'm not movin' bro".
What happened to less than lethal ???
Fucking grass valley fucking around in crossfire
What is so hard about listening?!?
He dead ?
911 caller a total wimp.
No worries he survived and he’s $1 million richer.
Now those are good cops
this is my shooting gun sir, not my fucking gun
How about you follow simple instructions next time you fucking meatball.
It seems like the officers on the approach noticed that it was not a shotgun or rifle, that is why they did not shoot when suspect pointed his gun directly at them. And office trying to use baton to disarm the suspect is another indication that he knew that he was not holding a lethal weapon. And we can hear suspect shooting bb gun at the office that tried to used baton to disarm the suspect. And if your thinking well maybe they didn't know if it was real or not! Well, in that case they are not smart! Approaching with out cover, not shooting when suspect pointed gun at them, using baton to disarm a gun, officer shooting two seconds after the suspect opened fire. What do you guys think?
The level of deescalation was -19
Drop the fucking gun
2nd amendment audit gone wrong
How is this on youtube
its a Shame the Police had to go Thru this situation. he Fucked THEM over.
"I'm not doing anything wrong"
Okay, so set the gun down and talk with them. If you don't have any warrants, they'll send you on your way! Why won't people just comply?
almost had friendly fire

I don’t think half these suicide attempts work. I have tried. Try rail or highway over pass
