@Copwatchtv obtained body camera footage from a 2022 incident involving an Albuquerque Police officer who was fired and charged criminally for his role in an arrest of a disable man.
New Mexico’s Attorney General filed criminal charges against former Albuquerque Police Department officer Kenneth Skeens. The Attorney General alleges Skeens unlawfully arrested a customer in an Albuquerque Target.
“Today my office filed charges against former APD Officer Kenneth Skeens for his role in the unlawful arrest of a customer with disabilities who was struggling to complete his purchase at a Target located in Albuquerque in August of 2022. Rather than acting as a professional public servant and a guardian of vulnerable members of this community, Mr. Skeens engaged in abusive and unlawful behavior that undermined public safety and violated his oath as a peace officer in the State of New Mexico,†Attorney General Raúl Torrez said in a press release.

More proof that you can issue them every piece of high-tech gear in the world but you can't issue common sense and screw target for not helping this guy more.
Bad cops
😂😂😂😂
What a DISGRACE! They treat him like a drunk person not a Disabled person…and did ONE PERSON ask what was going on, nope! I hope being fired and arrested is TRUE!
not enough. That disabled man is severely scarred and will have a hard time trusting any cops ever again. how many times has this cop done this and NOT been caught. His entire arrest record MUST be examined.
as a cop and paramedic, I have had to help these people many time, even step up aganist coworkers and store staff for them.
This is sickening and heart breaking.
HIGHER STANDARDS, Enhanced sentencing for ALL public officials.
Target only "supports" the trans community. They couldn't care less about disabled people. That's what you get. Hauled away by the police.
Yet another reason I refuse to use self checkout. I just put my stuff down and walk out.
This cop is garbage the gentleman here could be his friend, father, family members so they didn't see this man as a person.
Sue target for letting police be security on their premises.
Target don’t need cops to enforce trespassing laws on everyone that doesn’t look good enough to shop there.
That’s discrimination.
Whoever called the police, shame on you. I could say worse, but you are a peace of s**t!!!. THAT WAS TO THE WORKER THAT CALLED THE POLICE AND THE OFFICER. I hope the employee who did not want to help and called the police is fired. He should sue place and the police!! department
No impatient at all with these officers. All we can hope for is karma.
Aren’t there any decent people left in this world 😡
Did an employee ask them to remove him? If so sue the hell out of target.
Now, this situation is an example of bad policing. The report is absolute purjury. The guy clearly had the money to pay, but has speech issues. But instead of target employees assisting him use thier machine, the just kicked him out. How hard would it have been for the person who is over the self checkout area to scan his items and take his money. Not hard at all. Bad situation all the way around
WHY ONLY ONE COP CHARGED—– THERE WERE AT LEAST 3 COPS WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS ILLEGAL, UNLAWFUL, UNCONSTITUTIONAL ARREST ====TO CUT OFF HIS BAB SHOWS HOW DEPRAVED THESE ARE ==== AND WHEN HE ASKED FOR NAMES THEY RESPONDED—WE DON'T HAVE TO GIVE THEM=== CAN WE GET THEIR NAMES AND SHAME ALL THE BATARDS =========
I hope none of other officers were disciplined because of one dumb idiot cop
<.< somebody at target needs to be slapped, how are yall gonna sit there and watch that man struggle with his purchase and just call the cops what logical sense dose that even make
So freaking sad…… Disgraceful makes me want to puke
This fellow lives a difficult life and these officers just wanted nothing but misery. Protect and serve. They should have helped him with the checkout and everyone would be fine. Makes me mad that people abuse disabled persons.
Just don't get it. You have to ID because you took too long? These cops failed at multiple levels not including the very obvious sympathy of the situation. How the f*ck are you going to arrest someone for failing to ID with no crime you can even say at the time of the arrest?
This is a disgrace. I’m glad the cop was charged. B@$tards
Everyone who is saying target should fire the people responsible, be sure to write target and let them know. If they get enough negative feedback, they will do something
That cop actually looks a little handicapped himself, tbh.
