Cops: Stop Depending on Your Taser

#cops #police #lawenforcement

Some of my thoughts here:
1. Do not have an over dependence on your supplemental tools: taser, pepper spray (which can negatively impact other officers as seen here) and even batons. TASERS DON’T WORK ALL THE TIME. Engage accordingly. There is no reason this dude needed to be roaming and escalating for the time he did. Decisive action is absolutely necessary and any and all policies that inhibit this should be eliminated.

2. Increase your grappling skills. I know I beat this drum regularly but it’s because it rings true. There is no greater physical skill a patrol officer can have than that of being able to grapple another human being into compliance/handcuffing.

3. Learn to work TOGETHER. One officer says it in the video: calm down, work together guys. This is absolutely critical. Very often, the “pig pile” ends up being self-defeating because there is no skilled coordination in the efforts to subdue another human. This is a flaw in modern police training because PPCT doesn’t teach this and in most situations is a virtually useless set of techniques.

    1. Do not have an over dependence on your supplemental tools: taser, pepper spray (which can negatively impact other officers as seen here) and even batons. TASERS DON'T WORK ALL THE TIME. Engage accordingly. There is no reason this dude needed to be roaming and escalating for the time he did. Decisive action is absolutely necessary and any and all policies that inhibit this should be eliminated.

  2. Officers should just get plastic mallets and just be able to bop someone after the taser and spray don't work😂😂

  3. Who is willing to bet the guy is on some form of synthetics? The way he moves around, his behaviour, responsiveness, I wouldn't doubt it.

  4. I won't be a cop because I believe in stopping a threat. I wouldn't even try a taser. I keep seeing them fail or set people on fire! I have a LOT of respect for cops due to the restraint they must show, even if it endangers them.

  5. Cops need to stop playing with these guys. There's just not enough shooting of thugs like this. These guys just need to be ended and that's it. No hands on, no tazers, no pepper spray. You get one chance to surrender. You square up with me, you get a bullet that's it. I'm not touching you. The coroner's office will be the only one touching your body as they place you in a body bag.
Non-compliance by force gets you killed
Non-compliance by fleeing gets you killed
Non-compliance by arguing gets you pepper sprayed and your next felonious actions get you killed.

  6. @ 0:38… why did he grab his crotch..?
Why do people on street grab crotch when shaping up to fight..?
And cop trips over drain cover then wants to shoot..?
Grey shirt was in full control but not. Cop wants control but can't handle adrenalin surge..

  7. Not just a demonstration of the ineffectiveness of a Taser, but also how people can (and often will) fight through the effects of OC spray. Looked like both the bad guy and the officers got a pretty solid dose of the hot sauce, but all remained standing and fighting. All OC does is add an extra level of difficulty to resisting, which may or may not be enough to cause someone to quit fighting – that's 100% psychological.

  8. ASP batons just SUCK BALLZ. They never work either. They’re too light. A solid aluminum baton works better on the kneecaps and solar plexus.

  9. Won't go to the ground peacefully? Then I will force you to it. This just shows most need some jail experience, because just words don't mean shit til you do something about it

  10. The second cruiser was improperly positioned, it should have been parked on the subject's neck … for an hour or two!

  11. Was it's that officer first day on the job or are you trained to hit the suspect that soft with a baton because if I saw a constable in my country hit a suspect that soft. I would stand there in disbelief that this constable was allowed to complete basic training. Not even European officers hit that soft. Their batons break without fail of hitting their suspect.

  12. Video Spoiler

  13. Why can they just talk? I mean once they start giving orders it just sucks. Stuff like this makes me not like cops. Talk to him like a man. Stop fucking beating him.

  14. I’m wondering why the other officers that showed up didn’t hit him with their tasers? Especially when he took his shirt off.

  15. Dude, when that guy dropped his stuff and got into that "interview position" before shrugging off the tasar leads, I knew shit was gonna go South real fast.
Loved dispatches wisdom , "just wait, units are coming"… yeah right. Like the asshole will wait to continue winning the fight before the Cavalier arrives.

  16. Body language was key, this dude knew how to fight, getto style, when cop got near him, you can watch him protect him groin/balls, neck. His istance was always ready to kill the cop if he wanted. But luckly he didnt kill those cops, took of clothes to show no arms or knifes on belt,

  17. I was waiting for someone to bumrush him. It was the only way to get him to the ground. A little Jujitsu would have helped also. But the headlock worked.

  18. As a force instructor, this was hard to watch. Holy hell we have failed to train our officers. Taking away the carotid restraint was one of the single most detrimental occurrences to law enforcement. You’re a TEAM! Handle the situation as one. Kudos to the smallest cop present for finally going “Leroy Jenkins” on this mentally deficient subject and tackling him. Nice job with that OC spray! As usual, It looks like you got your partner more than the suspect and took him out of the “fight.”

  19. This cop clearly is losing his shit and is not in control of the situation. We have a serious issue of undertrained officers.

  20. You know it's sad if the guy had a gun he would have probably killed one of these cops because they're scared to engage him in a physical combat probably because they're not skilled enough to do so which is bullshit. Bean cops they should be trained with hand-to-hand combat they should be in shape and that is a problem off the bat. It's also a problem because they're obviously scared to shoot the guy. Even the guy who's taking the Radio Calls telling him to hold off until backup gets there sounded scared that someone could be shot. Nobody wants to be the cop who shoots any person anymore because everybody is afraid to do their damn job because of all the crazy anti police rhetoric that paint every police officer has a murderer. And I'm not saying it's a good thing to shoot somebody but they're just lucky that this guy didn't have a weapon or wasn't even more dangerous with his hands than he is. LOL maybe they should take a page out of Joe Biden's book and shoot him in the leg🤣
