Florida Fish & Wildlife Police: Marine Enforcement

In this video we take a step back from the celebrity arrests, high-speed pursuits, epic tasings, Jeremy Dewittes, and similar high-octane content. Because this is Real World Police, and those incidents – though certainly real – are not representative of your average encounter with law enforcement. Flipping that around, they are similarly not representative of your average day in the life of a police officer. Real police work tends to be mundane, centered around paperwork more than anything resembling action.

For today’s hat-tip to mundanity we turn to Florida’s Fish & Wildlife Police for the enforcement of tripletail bag and length limits against a visitor from Alabama.

  1. Seriously one fucking fish and you gonna ruin a familys fishing trip, if it was a shit load I understand give them a damn warning, check out their ID's, and as long as they are good move on with a warning and make sure the family understands the laws going forward. I understand why they are doing this but there comes a point where you can be a descent human being and make exceptions based on situation/attitude everything and this family was nothing but respectful. Fuck these wildlife officers who ruin people's weekends I've been through this and it just ruins the entire vibe of a fun fishing trip day. The reality is not everybody will be 100% read in at all times of the fishing laws give some people the benefit of the doubt.

  2. Cops like drunks fight now their willing to fight you !! Uh no shit cops don’t get any respect now a days especially not from me respect is earned not just given

  3. I would ticket him just for being from another state. We got too many out of state assholes destorying FL. If he was a local, Id give him a warning. thats how it works in FL lol You can't just come here and take all you want and leave. We don't have sustainable wildlife.

  4. I am the type of guy that would look up local fishing laws before going out and tempting fate, simply because you might end up having to deal with a hard-ass. But the fact that moving 50 miles in any direction means you have to look up 100 different rules and regs is ridiculous. That said, if they don't enforce, people take advantage and fish and game end up endangered. It's a shitty, but necessary thing.

  5. Jeremy Dewitte once jumped out of a submarine, fought off a geyser, AND destroyed an iceberg with his bare hands. In case you knuckleheads want to make fun, yet again, of a national treasure. Put some respect on his name.

  6. Catching a snook that you can keep is like hitting the fckin lottery. FWC has become a freakin joke.

  7. Ya got a weekend warrior with his wife and kid. Who can't dock a boat with one undersized fish. C'mon go get the guys who are slaughtering the fish let the guy go.

  8. C'mon the guy is out with his family give him a warning. It's not like he's out there with Gill nets wearing them out. There's bigger fish to fry lol.

  9. I can tell the officer so nervous I wonder why maybe that good looking lady make him nervous she has nice legs
    🤣

  10. Fisherman got a ticket.
    Ticketman got a fish.
I bet I know who is happiest at dinner time 🍽️

  11. The fact that you can get a misdemeanor for fishing shows how fucked up our country has become…sad state of affairs

  12. Imagine writing a petty ticket for one fish while commercial fish boats take pretty much what they want and make a ton of money off it. Were talking boats that take fish to almost extinction.

  13. Boat cop didn't buy his act so he got a ticket. Never try to put on an act such as his "Oh Shit!' exclamation like he didn't know – get you a ticket every time. Especially when your daughter is right there watching you trying to deceive the law.
    Education through enforcement.

  14. A hole boat pig bothering people fishing, over a couple inches. Good job boat pig, you are a tyrant and absolutely not doing any help for our country. U r worthless.

  15. I find it hard to believe he couldn't just give the man a warning. If he does it again, they have record of it, then nail him, but that was ridiculous. Now the dude has to come back to Florida just for a court visit over a fish. Get out of here with that insane shit.

  16. TAKING UNDERSIZE FISH IS REVOLTING AND TEACHING YOUR KID IT IS OK IS REVOLTING. ALL COPS SHOULD TREAT EVERYONE THE SAME, THESE PEOPLE ARE HURTING THE WORLD.

  17. Why is it a mistermena(excuse my spelling, I am British and we do not use that word} It seems to be that people can hurt animals with no consequence in America and I hate that.

  18. This FFW criminal should be arrested and charged under title 18 usc section 241 conspiracy against rights and title 18 usc section 242 deprivation of rights under color of law.

  19. FFW/DNR are thugs for corporations,to force human beings to pay for their food to survive, when fishing and hunting should be free it is a human and constitutional right.

  20. The US supreme Court
"The general rule is that an unconstitutional statute, though having the form and name of law,is in reality no law, but is wholly void and ineffective for any purpose since it's unconstitutionality dates from the time of it's enactment… In legal contemplation it is as inoperative as if it had never been passed… Since an unconstitutional law is void, the general principals follow that it imposes no duties, confers no right, creates no office, bestows no power or authority on anyone, affords no protection and justifies no acts performed under it. A void act cannot be legally consistent with a valid one. An unconstitutional law cannot operate to supercede any existing law. Indeed insofar as a statute runs counter to the fundamental law of the land (the Constitution)it is superceded thereby. No one is bound to obey an unconstitutional law and no courts are bound to enforce it."
    Bonnett V. Vallier 16 NW 885,136 Wis. 193(1908); Norton V. Shelby county,118 US 425(1886).

  21. If the state converts a right (liberty) into a privilege, the citizen can ignore the license and fee and engage in the right (liberty) with impunity.

No state shall convert a liberty into a license, and charge a fee therefore.

The claim and exercise of a constitutional right cannot be converted into a crime.

Where rights secured by the Constitution are involved there can be no rulemaking or legislation which would abrogate them.

All laws which are repugnant to the Constitution are null and void.
