On Friday, March 31, 2023, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported commercial burglary at Savage Smoke Shop on Palm Coast Parkway NW. The reporting party stated a black male with dreads had stolen the cash register from the store and fled in a silver Dodge vehicle. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle before exiting the parking lot onto Belle Terre Parkway. Deputy First Class Prevatt located the vehicle shortly later traveling southbound on US1. Deputy Beausoleil achieved a positive Stop Stick hit on the vehicle, and the vehicle then came to a stop. The driver, later identified as Jaquavis Clayton, was taken into custody without further incident. The cash register that was stolen from Savage Smoke Shop and the stolen money were found in the vehicle. Clayton is being held at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility on charges of Burglary of a Structure, Grand Theft, and Leaving the Scene of a Crash. He was also found to be a fugitive from Orange County, FL, for Burglary
