Norwalk police released body-camera video Monday of a water rescue in the Norwalk River. Car smashed through a railing along Main Street and fell into the river early Sunday morning. Police say the car plunged 40 feet and ended up on its roof, trapping the driver inside.
Firefighters and police officers worked together to save the 35-year-old man and bring him to shore.
Responders say they did not know the car was occupied until they reached it. Police say had the driver stayed in the water longer, he could have had severe hypothermia or drowned.
Fire officials say they used a rescue basket and pulley system to hoist the driver from the river bank.
The driver was taken to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries, and is expected to recover.

Wow, what a rescue.
Dude was kind of a badass
What a great rescue!
do the body cameras not record audio until the officer steps away from his car?
That just a normal day for us in Hong Kong
HEROS!
Salute!
I was there after this all happened and almost got hit by 4 cop cars speeding away from the scene going towards Dunkin Doughnuts!
with all the gopro and 4k technology, why are the bodycam vids so bad and grainy? seems like the quality could be better. Keep up the good work on the channel.. Nice videos.. I like your work.
