San Diego Motorcycle Pursuit Reaches Nearly 100 MPH on City Streets

On January 27, 2018 a motorcyclist led officers on a pursuit through city streets before losing control and hitting a van and home in the 4600 block of Orange Avenue in Teralta. Officers attempted to pull the speeding motorcyclist over on southbound 805 near Adams Avenue at about 2:00 p.m. but – as you can see – the driver was not keen on stopping.

  1. This cop broke a major pursuit rule by not having the siren constantly on. He put the public and himself in serious danger chasing someone with the siren on during the chase, "tapping" it doesn't cut it in a pursuit, he's very lucky the drivers didn't do anything silly. Put the city and himself at some major liability risk, hopefully the Department brass go wind of this and disciplined the officer for lack of siren use and violating policy on a pursuit.

  2. I drive 80-85 every morning to work on the very same freeway for five years. Never been ticketed even once. 😆

  3. I guess the cops have to pay to use the siren or something. This guy ran stop signs and red lights with no siren. Big liability issue if he had hit someone.

  4. 3:25
    The cop: El cajon Blvd
Cope dude El cajon blvd has 3 lanes for going on traffic 😂😂😂
    Then he is like Orange….
Good knowledge of your Area of Operation wow…

  5. Is there some advantage to why he keeps turning his siren off? What if he rams into some civilian that doesn't hear him coming at high speed? I could almost understand it if he's doing it just a little to hear his radio or something, but he's turning it off a lot.

  6. I don’t see the bikers speeding out of the flow of all other vehicles. Why pick on them?

  7. Those roads are rockier than Rocky Roads ice cream. Hitting those bumps at that speed in the car must have been hell. Even moreso for the bikeer.

  8. They should have ended the pursuit way before this happened, all for a speeding ticket! the possibility of killing a bystander the entire time is too big of a risk.

  9. Those cop radios sound like old Arcade games!
    Pac Man goes bike hunting…
Sooooooo annoying, no wonder cops practice extreme take downs all the time.
