On January 6, 2024, Flagler County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted a grey Chevrolet SUV that had been reported stolen from Sebring, Florida.
The vehicle stopped briefly at local gas station, but then fled.
Deputies deployed Stop Sticks, a brand of tire deflation devices used by law enforcement, in an attempt to disable the vehicle.
Two front tires were successfully deflated but the suspect continued to drive. To monitor the situation from above, Flagler County Fire Flight joined the pursuit.
The vehicle ultimately stopped, and deputies attempted a high-risk traffic stop, but the suspect refused to exit and the vehicle resumed fleeing.
Stop Sticks were successfully deployed once again, causing the right rear tire to deflate.
The vehicle ultimately veered off the roadway and got stuck in the grass.
The suspect kept trying to avoid arrest by revving the engine, trying to escape, and wouldn’t get out of the stolen car
Surveillance drone was launched in attempt to gain visual inside Chevrolet due to the driver not complying with verbal commands, but was unable to help due to the tint windows.
The suspect eventually surrendered and exited the vehicle.
He was arrested for Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Flee and Elude, Resisting Without Violence, Possession Methamphetamine, and less than 20 grams of Marijuana. Possible stolen jewelry and a laptop were also located in the vehicle.
