Tulsa, Oklahoma — On December 27, 2023, at approximately 12:51 a.m., Tulsa Police responded to a 911 call regarding an Armed Robbery at the Tudor House Inn located at 6416 E. Archer. The victim reported being assaulted and robbed by a suspect brandishing a firearm. The suspect also fired the weapon into the air during the incident. Upon arrival, Officers reviewed security footage, which corroborated the victim’s account and showed the suspect pointing the pistol at another guest as well.
Witness reports confirmed the erratic behavior and gunshots described by the victim. During the initial response, officers secured the perimeter and attempted to establish communication with the suspect. He made contradictory statements and ignored commands. The suspect fired a round in the room while Officers were surrounding the room, it was not clear if he was firing upon Officers. Subsequently, he exited the room by attempting to disguise himself as an old man and fled the scene on foot, prompting a pursuit. The suspect was running towards an area where civilians were present.
Since the suspect had already showed no regard for the safety of others, an Officer fired their weapon to stop him from endangering innocent civilians. The suspect was struck once and was immediately apprehended by pursuing Officers. Officers provided medical aid at the scene before the suspect was transported to the hospital for further treatment. Detectives conducted a search of the suspect’s room, recovering the firearm believed to be used in the Robbery. Evidence of firearm discharge was also identified within the room.
The suspect was identified as Aaron Gonzalez. Gonzales was charged with:
– Discharging a Weapon into a Dwelling
– Obstructing an Officer
– Possession of a Firearm AFCF (After Former Conviction of a Felony)
Gonzalez pleaded guilty to the charges and is currently serving an 8-year sentence in the Lexington Assessment and Reception Center in Lexington, Oklahoma.

Nothing against police but I am still curious as to why after they shoot a guy 20 times and he is clearly deceased and motionless do they holler things like roll over, pur your hands up, don't touch the weapon…. can a police officer chime in.

I would like to know if those were pepperballs in the paintball gun, because if they were, they did not work well. I'm assuming they were normal pain compliance rounds.

Facts he wasn’t armed because they found the gun in the hotel room. Secondly he never posed a threat to civilians because if you seen the same video I seen there was no civilians in the vicinity. Thirdly how can you depict who is the suspect when someone walks out if you haven’t cleared the room to make sure the actual suspect isn’t still in there. For all we know he really could have been a old man walking a dog.
