I can tell you this from close experience the school shootings are not from bullies the school shootings are from the effects of bullying once people get taunted enough they finally snap and they go out to harm the people that laughed at them everyday made them a joke out of the whole school things of that nature because back when I was in school I got picked on a lot and the teachers never wanted to do any damn thing but they didn't have a problem punishing me because I had to take things into my own hands to try to stop the s*** and because I was the fat kid I was automatically supposedly the bully but I was getting picked on because I was the fat kid by the jocks and s*** like that and yeah I did contemplate shooting up my school and we're talking years ago back when I was in middle School like I'm 32 now I ended up dropping out of school and I never got my I never graduated because of all the s*** that I had to put up with in school and honestly it was either drop out we're going to kill and spree but at least I chose I guess the healthier choice it affects me though and life's been a struggle without one but remember this bullies are not the School shooters the victims of the bullies are who the ends up being School shooters in most cases especially with Georgia tech he was picked on severely by many so really take that and consideration take that from a mind that thought the same way but I chose not to go through with that s***

16. Imagine, just for a moment, an unarmed cop working in an American inner city, even where the locals weren't armed. Upon attempting an arrest they'd catch a beat down from 30+ people.

    Incidentally the UK has 6x the property crime rate of the US and 8x the rate of rape.

25. In Spain, police officers have got guns, but they cannot use them unless the subject is using a gun too. For example, if you're a police officer and a person has a knife and you shoot to the floor, you will probably have problems. The SWAT isn't an exception, the can break into a house with rifles, but they cannot use them if they're not being shot.

Its totally about gun control and culture, in Uk we have stricter gun laws and so that makes it more difficult for criminals to attack cops in that way its still very rare, our officers therefore don't need to be routinely armed although we do have armed response units, in USA any form of gun control is heavily opposed and the gun lobby is massive, and of course guns are easy and awash in US culture. The two narratives aren't the same, however we would much rather not have cops who end up having guns and the sort of overtly police state, with the situation that is happening in the USA.

I also think it's interesting how people reference the U.K. policing without guns but also don't mention how most countries in the world (including some of the most safe and some with the most strict gun laws) are routinely armed. Only like 6 countries don't give their police guns regularly (I believe they are the U.K., Ireland, Iceland, New Zealand, Maldives, and Norway). Yes, even countries with strict guns laws like Australia have police carry guns on them. Also, nations like Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden, Canada and what not (places where gun crime is rare) still have routinely armed police. So the idea of taking away the police's guns in the U.S., given our crime rate and the fact that almost all countries in the world arm their own police, is frankly ludicrous!

36. It's not working. They really need to arm their cops. I've seen a video where it was to the point that the UK cop was having a criminals car towed. The bad guy came up beat up the cop that was there and told the tow operator he'd better put the car back and he did. He beat the cop up some more and drove off. Over here he'd been shot. 42. You get threatened with a firearm here and you have to wait for control to send an armed response vehicle to you, which takes a good 6 minutes usually. So you just sit around and wait, and hope they don't shoot you in the meantime. Sounds safe, doesn't it?
