Baldwin County, Georgia — On December 13, 2022, at 4:52 p.m., Baldwin County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at the Antioch Primitive Baptist Church on Old Monticello Road in Milledgeville, Georgia. Deputies entered the church to make sure no one was inside. While the deputies were making sure no one was inside, 48-year-old Fiesta Lattina Murphy attacked one of the deputies with a hammer. The deputy was hit in the arm with the hammer as he was blocking his head with his arm. The deputies attempted to get Murphy to drop the hammer. Murphy tried to attack the deputy a second time. The deputies fired their service weapons, hitting Murphy. The deputies rendered aid until EMS arrived. Murphy was taken to Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, Georgia. The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office charged Murphy with Burglary and Arson.

  6. You see why cops seem to be on a perceived “power trip” – it’s because they have to be hyper vigilant, they never know when someone is gonna come running at their head with a f@;*ing hammer or pointing a gun in their face.
    After a situation like this they’re gonna be on edge on their next traffic stop. Imagine though that this happens to them and officers they work with EVERY DAY

  18. I know the officer shouted “Sheriff’s Office” when he cleared the bathroom but I didn’t hear the other officer announce himself and they never announced themselves after that. Officers need to announce themselves in every room they go into.

  24. If you have a pistol mounted light, but you are holding a handheld light, you have a problem. 2 hands on the gun at all times. Hes lucky he didnt shoot his partner in the back when he got scared

  27. The shooting was justified.
    I understand she is black and the cops are white. This ain’t no racial profiling. She was hiding in the dark in the back area and came out swinging with a deadly weapon. You can seriously hurt somebody or even kill with a hammer. She deserved what she got. Period.
