Claremont Park in the Bronx is a park which is occupied by mostly People of Color..The park closes at 10:30pm every night, however, you have these officers at 9pm harrasing the very same people who live in the Community who have a right just like any other person to be in the Park till 10:30pm…It is the job of the NYC Parks Department which have thier own security to clear out the park at 10:30pm, and ONLY as a last resort to call in the #NYPD when people fail to clear the park at that time…THIS IS JUST PLAIN ABUSE OF AUTHORITY AND ABUSE TOWARDS THE COMMUNITY THAT PAYS TAXES TO UTILIZE THIS PARK…This is just another example how people of color are targeted, as you will NEVER see this kind of Policing in white privileged communities, in which they linger in thier parks till 2am in the morning without any NYPD interuption whatsoever….
