Total idiots….this would be hysterical except for the fact that they have the authority to hurt you and you have to stand still and let them! Good job auditor!
Sorry, no one can be ordered to testify against another person. Laws that allow it are blatantly unconstitutional. No one has a duty to assist the cops. Period. Don’t be intimidated. Threat of arrest is pure intimidation and is illegal.
How can so many cops have so many wrong beliefs on the law?!??!?!
The worst thing about this video,, the officers will face no discipline,, and they will be free to violate other peoples rights,, and unfortunately, that violation will be at the taxpayers expense
This cop is either an idiot or acting a idiot u can film anything from public place
WAY TO GO MR TURNER!!!!!!
Cops are way too afraid of cameras.
These morons just try to make it up as they go and hope you’ll take them at their word. They think whatever they say is the law. This is one of the many many reasons they’re hated so much.
I live in Comal County. I'm rather embarrassed at the incompetence and lack of basic constitutional knowledge on display by these deputies.
It's obvious that the piggy is a graduate of the ATA school of law enforcement!
there is no expectation of privacy in public That's why its called public. Tell dumbass to shut his truck door. End on conversation
Let’s be real, the first two cops were hassling Mr. Turner because he’s a POC. It took another POC that outranks the first guys to deescalate the situation.
I get there is corrupt cops but we need the cops bud. You’d be the first to run and cry to them I guarantee.
He was a witness to a crime but he has no idea what they did, so he was not a witness. These cops should be fired.
One key thing to take away here deals with seizing phones or cameras for evidence. Police can only seize your camera if they reasonably believe that there is MATERIAL evidence of a serious crime on that camera. Footage of an arrest or a traffic stop or a search is not MATERIAL evidence. Like the sergeant said, if they got into a shootout and you were filming then potentially you WOULD have MATERIAL evidence on your phone and they could seize it as evidence and get a warrant to search through the contents.
Another bully boy officer who doesn't know his job.
“You saw me make this arrest??? Oh, hell no! I’m arresting the absolute hell out of you. I’d arrest you twice if I could. You gonna go to jail cause you is witnessing a crime, boy. And we all know it’s illegal for you to actually see a crime being committed! You think it’s lawful to actually keep your eyes open when a crime is occurring in front of you? Don’t you know you gotta close your eyes and say “Simon, may I watch this crime take place?†Put your hands behind your back, you have the right to remain silent, AND you ain’t getting no juice box with your snack later. Nope, you’re only getting water and bread crusts since you broke the law watching a crime take place. Jeez, don’t you know anything??? No snack for you! You done goofed! I back traced you, kid!â€- these LEOs allegedly.
Why though…why is it so important that he is filming
Your vehicle being an extension of your home only applies in certain circumstances.
Plain view dummy
i get these cops are bullys but omg sometimes just move instead of wasting peoples time
He was not a witness to a crime, he was a witness to an arrest.
Impose your will dipstick cop. Then find out. What part doesn’t the cop understand, don’t threaten arrest!
See… this is one situation where I can fully understand why cops would want to identify someone and have it make sense. Logically speaking, knowing who a witness is can be beneficial. HOWEVER, if they decline and are not a material witness, leave them alone. Both sides here have legitimate reasons for their decision.
That police man is hand shaking!
Witnessing a crime is a crime holy shit
Why would anyone even argue with an officer. Many of these "audidors" are beeing obnoxious little shits asking unneccessary questions instead off just shutting their mouth and comply.
Witness dont go to jail, do they? And witness are allowed to not give any statement about what they saw
There is soooooo many grey areas in law. How are we supposed to know our rights 🤦ðŸ½â€â™‚ï¸
I could be wrong but a lot of these utuber’s who are filming or taking pictures of vehicles or property that isn’t theres are all saying their exercising their rights, but do they realize that while their literally taking up the time of the police there might be or could be a real crime being committed, someone could be getting robbed, shot, stabbed or other serious crime and these idiots are taking up the time of police, waisting tax payers dollar’s, and someone else might really need the police for help in a life or death situation, I guess all that doesn’t matter as long as the utuber get his or her few minutes on camera or on utube. What in the world is wrong with these people ? What if you had your few minutes with the cops, arguing about your rights and you find out someone not too far was shot in a robbery and you and your rights are the reason the robber or murderer got away with that real crime ? What would you do ? How would you feel ? You can’t do anything, what’s done is done. Then what ? Are you gonna continue to scram for or about your rights, what about the person who got robbed or shot ?
I agree with filming whatever you want publicly, however, there are people that are looking for trouble
He offered to give them footage so he did was required.
They could ask for name and contact information for a witness but DOB is questionable.
