Keir Starmer officially became the new prime minister of the United Kingdom after the Labor Party’s big win Thursday in the general election, The Associated Press reported.Conservative Rishi Sunak resigned as prime minister, and Starmer met Friday with King Charles III, who approved him to form a new government.The Labour Party won a majority of votes to thrust Starmer, leader of the Labour Party, into the powerful position.
