The largest crane on the eastern seaboard has arrived at the site of the Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore and can move 1,000 tons. Another crane, capable of transporting 400 tons, is expected to arrive between now and Sunday. A cargo ship slammed into the Key Bridge in Baltimore on Tuesday morning, causing the bridge to come crashing down into the river, and killing six construction workers. The bodies of two of those workers have been recovered but 4 remain trapped between debris.

  1. Better treatment for the immigrant workers indeed. I think we should make it illegal for cargo ships to hit bridges. I'd even go as far as making it a felony to get within 10' of any bridge with a cargo ship over 5,000 tons…..

  2. These people in government are not smart people. Whatever their plan is, it will be a very dumb idea, that is guaranteed. It's sad but true.

Since millions of dollars a day is being lost due to lack of through traffic on and across the water, an intelligent person wouldn't conclude that the best option is to restore that capability ASAP. But there is no way they will do that, because if they did, that would make them intelligent people.

Either a temporary military style bridge or ferries, or both, could have already been in place for transport across. A cleared section of debris, clearly marked, could have already been in place for water transport. But business water traffic will probably be blocked for weeks, and over water transport for 2-5 years.

I understand that mentally useless people need a job, but unfortunately for us, they usually end up in government jobs.

  6. I just thought about it and bridges don't get potholes, it's not like a road built on the ground. It would just get a hole that you could fall though there isn't any dirt underneath it, only air, can't fill that hole, don't have to be white to know that. "If" there were potholes to fill, you have to do it in the summer because the asphalt and sealant won't cure properly. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and go look at the side of a bucket of asphalt, read the instructions, all the fine print, comprehend the words, actually learn for yourself, maybe you do have to be white to do somethings.

  7. Were the construction workers provided with PFDs that may have be required by OSHA when working above a water way.

Wearing a PFD might have given those workers a slight chance to live and float to the surface to be aided by first responder rescue boats. That's only if not trapped in a vehicle.

  8. How many times I have tell you I'm not a NAZI American 🇺🇸💩👹☠️I am not going to participate in your destruction and manipulate evil ways.
