I still have my Motorola Atrix HD. Some guys have modded the LapDock to work on Pine Phone and even Raspberry Pi.
This was my third cell phone. Bought it because of the commercial they made for it so hooray marketing haha. Dualcore in a cell phone? That's practically a computer! The lapdock was such a cool concept, but of course I didn't have enough money to buy it. I remember it being so darn snappy, and being able to emulate SNES and GBA games was mind blowing. I was super into Drifting at the time, I remember streaming coverage from Formula Drift and blowing through my data plan lol. BUT. It was such a hot mess, crashing and resetting several times a day. A buddy of mine had a 3gs and we'd get into android vs apple pissing matches all the time haha. I ended up trading it plus some cash for an Iphone 4 and never looked back.
Time flies…
Lapdocks had to be pulled. It would had turned the entire notebook industry on its head
i went from an htc inspire (worst battery life phone ever made btw) to this phone. i had all the accessories. and i gotta say it was ahead of its time. also, the finder print scanner was really easy to use after you figured it out. man thats a throwback
This was my first smart phone as well!
This was my first ever smart phone lol. Good times, good times😅
Great phone. Shittty review. Like you're comparing to 2020+ plus phones.
Atrix was one of the first phones offering wifi hotspotting (Tethering). It was the reason why I bought mine.
I remember this was my first Android phone and I loved it immensely.
I also tried to get the laptop dock but it was also way, waaaay outside of my budget.
The name sounds like it has 4G in 2011.
Very bad design. The phone sticks out like a sore thumb like it's begging to be stolen by even regular people, not thieves.
i had one of these. with root the HDMI port could also be used for TVs
My Moto atrax phone was the first phone I ever had like this at 6th grade
Wow.. I didn't know Hayato before he joined mkbhd team
I remember this phone being super high end back in the day
I was watching a Mr Mobile video and totally forgot about my old Atrix phones. I think I had 2 or 3 of them. Also forgot about the HTC Wing I had before the iPhone was released. HTC was really at the top of their game for a while and it's sad to see they are no longer a global player.
omg i still have one and it's still working, this was my father's phone
This was my favorite phone that i have owned. I remember the day i loaded Ubuntu onto it to replace Webtop.
I was so hopeful that the Lenovo Motorola Z line was going to fully bring back and hold onto this concept.
Dude, what a shame with a fingerprint? There it is not necessary to put a finger, but to carry it out with a sliding movement. Even the instructions are written on purpose.
I used to pronounce ASUS “asses†lol…..cause that was what it sounded like when I was five. (I didn’t mean it as a swear word OK?!?)
A smaller phone with a headphone jack, removable battery, and SD slot. It just needs a modern screen/camera/cpu!
