In the many years of his dictatorship, Adolf Hitler garnered numerous enemies within the German Reich, and the opposition attempted multiple times to thwart him. The most well-known assassination attempt on Hitler took place on July 20, 1944, at the Führer Headquarters by Stauffenberg. Although the attempted bombing by a member of his own ranks failed, the attack remained one of the most significant actions of the resistance, proving that there were groups determined to halt Hitler’s crimes, even at the cost of their own lives.
