“Hard Time” is an exclusive, groundbreaking documentary series that takes a look behind the scenes of US high security prisons and immerses viewers in the brutality of life there. Prisoners, guards, wardens, families – these are stories full of desperation and hope, truth and consequence. In season 1 we accompany new prisoners and young prison guards in training. Season 2 takes us on a year-long journey behind bars in an Ohio prison, where respect is hard-earned, violence is a constant threat, and reparation is hard to come by. “This is World War III, and we fight it every day,” says a bitter prison guard in Season 3, which takes us to two notorious state prisons in Georgia, one of which is an all-woman prison. By focusing on a small number of inmates and guards in each episode, the series spans a strong and often heartbreaking web of lost souls.

  1. Unbelievable how ugly a woman can get by just cutting her hair short. Dont do it women (unless you are like 50+ then its ok because no one will look at you any way)!

  2. i done two months in jail.. looks almost identical to prison…
i was locked up for not being in school and working without a permit as a foreigner..
i learned first hand how the american system works… it is completely unfair and they will lock you away for a very longtime for some petty crimes.
during my time in jail, i allready knew i wasnt going to be there for a longtime, i didnt take no lawyer because i had planned out my meeting with the judge in favor of my needs.when the trial came, judge told me i was eligal in the country because i wasnt in school, i pleaded guity and asked for voluntary departure out the country, which was granted to me so i bought my tecket home. jail is very boring soo.. i spent my days reading and working out, gave me something to do lol. i came across this one book that changed my life. this book speaks the origins of religions. after having learned about where the religion i practice came from and many others, i coud finaly make a fair choice on what id like to follow. i chose no religion, but i do beleive in god.
came my departure day from the jail to my home country, i drank alot of red wine on the flight home and had a good laugh with the gentleman who was sitting next to me. I was really happy to be out of America because any country that will treat a person like that for not being in school, i fear what else they could do to innocent people wrongly accused for crimes they did not commit. kinda dodge a bullet there… ill be heading to canada for a better quality of life.

  3. At 36 min did he say he made a 360 degree turn 🤦🏽‍♂️

  4. Seems Metro women's facility then closed down in 2011, the year after this was made. It opened up again in 2018 as a reentry facility for men.

  5. Correction your not a solider your a paid thief a armed robber and a burglar .. u going into other people’s sovereign countries to steal their resources FACTS !!

  6. I live in Norway. It takes you 2 years of intens training and school to become a prison officer. I googled USA – You won't need a degree to become a Prison Officer, and employers will place most precedence on your work experience and personal qualities. However, you will need to pass a number of numeracy assessments and fitness/medical tests as part of the application process. It so obvious why your system, imo, is fucked at so many levels.
