  1. He has been released but is not out of the woods yet . He is facing an American court in the Marianna Islands. American Overseas Territories.
He has agreed to plead guilty to one charge.
Right now he is putting his faith in the plea deal. Worryingly he will be at their mercy while he is there.
In the past their guarantees have often proved worthless. So Julian is still under threat and suffering further stress.
    We wait with bated breath.

  2. It is very reassuring to hear Americans addressing the issue here, without seeing as an indictment the American society as a whole. This stand will keep Americans in high esteem with the intelligent sector of the Australian public. The CIA is the biggest risk to Assanges life.

  3. NO, NOT REMBRANDT!!!!!😢
    LET HIM FREE RIGHT NOW!!!!!!

I DON'T BELIEVE THAT JULIAN ASSANGE REALLY WANTS SOMEONE BLACKMAILING A DECISION. THIS IS NOT VERY HELPFUL. WE ALL WORRY ENOUGH FOR HIS LIFE. 💔

  4. I'm not saying I want Assange to die in prison, but I really want to see the person promising to destroy artwork look like an idiot when he fails to carry out his threat.
It will be almost as funny as all the celebrities who forgot about their vows to leave the U.S. if Trump got elected! 😄

  5. I disagree with Robbie on this one. I think this tactic could have a particularly stronger effect on the governments decision simply because the government is now faced with the decision of going against the people who already support Julian or going against them as well as the enormous hord of people who will be unimaginably enraged if the government chooses to let numerous pieces of priceless historical artwork get destroyed in the name of setting an example to those who dare expose their secrets. I think if the art get destroyed the backlash could be a disaster of historic proportions causing a level of civil unrest not seen in over a century

  6. Take into account, the amount of whistleblowing happening within government agencies. What Assange did (by todays standards) isn't anything outlandish. Considering Trump wouldn't have become President without the dirt on Hillary fuel, it's surprising that He refuses to acknowledge it. A pardon was in order, that never happened. Perhaps Trumps current dilemma has been fueled with a hint of karma.

  7. I agree about Free Assange, but I cant believe anyone would agree that this is positive, and is likely to not make any difference, so its just wasteful. The art world should be aghast. This is a form of terrorism, which will lead to more such destructive acts, especially if succesful, but even if just praised. It doesnt raise the question of the value of human life versus art, because it doesnt have to be a choice between the two, it is artificially chosen to be set upas if it is a choice between the two. And this is extortion. If you believe what is happening to Assange is terrible, doing something else terrible which has no connection to Assange is still terrible. There may be nothing we can do about one, and the other is needless and arbitrary. The extortionist is the evil do-er in reference to the art.

Unless we want to live in a world where wrongs are done all the time, then we should not applaud/reward this behavior. What happens when the individual is an actual criminal and someone blackmails like this for their realease, or its something else important…when the person THINKS they are on the right side, or knows they are not, and just wants to get what they want?

  8. He released information that could get many men put into prison , like the Did ee do it case and who helped him get away with it . He didn’t act alone .

  9. Intellectual freedom is the ontological corner stone of the Arts. The link between intellectual freedom and a free press is axiomatic and inextricable. Unfortunately Julian Assange is the canary in a cole mine regarding freedom of the press! He is proof that in the dystopian future the military industrial intelligence complex has planned for us intellectual freedom won't be tolerated.
