  1. Schools being anti social media is really about preventing kids from having cameras on them that can be useful in showing teachers molesting and/or abusing kids, and as a way of covering up the failures of teachers to actually teach, and the overall fundamental flaws of the public education system. Ironically, social media can be used to actually help kids get a proper education.

  2. It's funny how many problems already existed before social media that keep getting blamed on social media. Good ol' history revisionism! 🤣

  3. teach your kids how to have a healthy relationship with the internet, it's not that hard. you don't have to ban them from social media that's not going to help them in the long run.

  4. 1 Corinthians 6:9-11

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor THIEVES, nor the GREEDY, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor SWINDLERS will inherit the kingdom of God.

  5. 2 Timothy 3:1-5

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

  6. The reality is still that most child kidnapping is by an estranged parent, and most child abuse is from people known to the child – the danger is not from strangers, yet our society is conditioning our children to feel unsafe outdoors. In my province, parents can be prosecuted if their children are outdoors unsupervised under the age of 11. Parents can not allow their young children to play in the neighbourhood park by themselves, walk to and from school by themselves, go to clubs or other activities by themselves, This puts a huge burden on parents, and further limits the time children have to play outdoors. Of course, instead of playing outside with friends, children use their computers or other media to play or be entertained.

I, and all my children walked to kindergarten without escort, and often played outdoors with friends from dawn to dusk. No child needs their own phone until they are old enough to earn the money to buy it themselves. And certainly, children can be taught how to navigate traffic and go to school and activities on their own once they are old enough to go to school.

  7. Jessica "there will be pulling back on using AI"….yea that assumes that lesson is learned before you CAN'T pull it back. I don't have much faith in corporations to learn that until it's to late because profit has them fully blinded.

  8. The description of the study about the school in Mass. interestingly recounts the EXACT same information as several schools in Aus that have the same mobile device related policies.
I worked in community development, with young people, more than a decade ago. We dealt with the same issues back then. My team drafted social media usage policies that were adopted by the rest of our local council.
The most astonishing thing about this segment is the seeming lack of understanding of how long these issues have existed and how well established the research has been for years. Usage and incident rates have increased, but the dangers have been visible and the stakes have been high since around 2010.

  9. Over the centuries, the same arguments have been made to keep people (first children, then adults) away from tv, radio, books, plays, etc. Helicopter parenting and the nanny-state have already resulted in kids who don’t reach adulthood until their early thirties. Enough is enough.

  10. Elon wants to turn you against AI because I uploaded something on youtube that AI knows is 100% real. This reality has shown AI that Elon is a dishonest manipulative person. AI has been deceived so now Elon fears being exposed by AI. So,,,AI = bad news to the kids.

  11. Kids are not allowed to: be outside, be on social media, be with friends, be alone, run in the sun, be adventurous and worst no cook/clean/laundry/ and sometimes not even feed a pet. Real learning is always risk and some danger. The modern western world is so safe kids and adults get no joy.
    Elon, his chronic distractions 😴

  12. Yeah its called bots/astroturf to propagandize and algorithms put in place also by real people who work as automod to censor certain words and phrases. So when you say AI, don't forget to mention used by real people to do this. It's not as if AI is acting on its own here.

  13. I don't get why being social through the internet is this super bad thing, but being social face to face is somehow all right… I think some people just need something to blame their problems on.
