Closing arguments are expected Friday in the case against Fulton County, Ga., District Attorney Fani Willis (D), who could be removed from her role as leader of an investigation into alleged election interference by former President Trump.
Willis is accused of improperly hiring special prosecutor Nathan Wade, with whom she had a romantic relationship.
Judge Scott McAfee will decide if that hiring represented a real or apparent conflict of interest. His ruling will be based in part on weighing the different accounts of when the former couple’s involvement began and ended.
The proceedings are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. EST.
