Everyone of those many nations were fighting all the other nations. You can't call dibs on land. First nation peoples conquered and colonized each other ALL THE TIME! I will say Jess's proposal to give some current federal lands back to the Indigenous peoples is arguably the kind of compromise real egalitarianism requires. Unfortunately I also hear her defending the panelists' desire for "dominance", and I hear them wondering why more people didn't cheer for the deaths of innocent women and children over ancient blood feuds and I hear them suggesting non-Indigenous Americans have nonright to be here. That kind of speech may be constitutionally protected but it certainly isn't helpfu. Or justifiable.

The problem with "Landback" is its exactly the same argument the Zionists used to justify the Nakba. After a certain number of generations it is no longer reasonable to blame present day people for something their ancestors did. That doesn't mean we have no social responsibility to disadvantaged peoples but as far as just dumping us all in the sea or something…nationalism is nationalism. America for the (Indigenous) Americans still sounds just like "Germany for the Germans" to my ears. The problem I have is with calling this the left at all.
