“What’s America Thinking?†does a deep dive into whether bottled water is as safe to drink as we think. Host Julia Manchester speaks with expert Matthew Campen, professor at University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy, about how so-called nano- and microplastics have permeated every aspect of our lives – from what we consume, wear, use and beyond – and whether it’s possible to live a plastic-free life.

I,m a single 60 yo disabled lady living in an apartment, I use a countertop dispensing Zero water filter system, it came with a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter, my tap water is 268, with the Zero system my water is ZERO TDS…. I fill my reusable stainless travel cup or glass cups at home and I LOVE IT. My water tastes great and my anxiety over this problem is gone !!!
Orange Juice is sold in Cartons, water could be sold in cartons as well. One company called Boxed Water. Couldn't the cartons be burnt afterwards instead of recycled?

Tap water in a metal bottle. Pretty easy.
Go back to the old ways duh. I grew up growing food and canning food and drying meat. Glass was reuseable and inert. I only drink well water from a good source.
Recycling plastics and rubber is the master key. Solidified plastics and rubbers can build roads, school supplies, robotic exteriors, military training materials, clothing accessories such as parts for shoes or other fashions. How about bricks for flooring or even storage facilities or solidified housing products such as gutters, driveway sidings, gardening materials like planters, pots, farming equipment and more. Eavh of these can be very lucrative as they are recyclables creating sustainable jobs. 🤔 But this would cause disruptions in more lucrative processes in society.
In truth, we need a completely new way of industry. We have all the tools we could possibly need to clean up the mess. It all comes down to the will of the populace to pursue such a thing.
Repurpose Recyclables is absolutely the key. Industry reformation. May horse and buggy while in transition. It could beuch worse. In fact, it will be.
Isn't that a Crime?
Why does the government allow this?

I donate plasma and read a study on how donating plasma a few times a year can lower your nano plastics in your blood. They take only plasma and filter your blood before returning it back to you.
We….or the corporations responsible for producing these products didn't factor this… long-term….or if so….cared…ðŸŒ
The teens and 20 somethings will not understand. They will open a plastic bottle of water, pour it into their $30 metal Yeti, and throw the empty plastic in the recycling bin. YOU MEAN PUT TAP WATER in the metal bottle. Hah! They will never! Gross!

We all have plastics inside us wherever we live.
The Hill won't discuss it due to cancel culture, but… consumer plastics are now thought to be a major contributor in the massive uptick in gender dysphoria over the last few decades. This rabbit hole goes deep.
This is not new, a study like this came out of Harvard at least a decade ago.

Might not be much, but all things I buy in plastic, vanilla extract, packaged foods I get at Sam's, etc. I put in mason fats, pyrex etc. I don't keep anything in the plastic it comes it. Might make no difference, but I'm trying

The oil capitalism industry and lack of common sense are the perfect recipe for planet annihilation, we humans are basically doing anything possible to ruin everything as bad as possible.
I am curious of the health effects of nano plastics? I question if this is significant or not because medical professionals also suggest using petrochemical ingredients in baby creams for Eczema so if nano level plastics may cause significant health effects from these plastics made of petrochemicals and gasses then it means these creams are also toxic! 🙂
As a child there was NO bottled water or supermarket wrapper bags.

Maybe the sugar and excessive carbohydrates combined with a sedentary lifestyle is our real problem.
There is always glass bottles and they are recyclable. Plastic is used because it is cheaper to make and ship. It is not like industry is looking out for us. Remember BPH in baby bottles?
