  1. The new CEO of NPR literally is against Free Speech. There's huge blind spot on the types of stories they cover. If they're mostly not funded by the government, then maybe they shouldn't be at all.

  2. I used to love NPR. They even used to advertise that they had balanced and free reporting. I almost never listen anymore. They only report from a viewpoint of wokeness.

  3. I don't agree with Brie. I'm trying very hard to not dismiss her claims reflexively, but it's difficult.
It sounds to me like she's arguing that there is NOT a huge problem with ideological bias on college campus including censorship & retaliatory measures against non-progressive views.

It's my "lived experience" that the problem exists, it's huge, it's existed for YEARS, and it's getting worse. I do NOT believe that this is merely a case of the right wing being exceptionally skilled at filing lawsuits and pushing their narrative contrary to reality.

This show is more intelligent than mainstream television news media, but sometimes I feel more gaslit by journalists like Brie than all of NPR and PBS combined.

  4. Uri's article was such a breath of fresh air for me. I used to enjoy enough of NPR to listen regularly, along with the right leaning outlets as well, but I gave up on NPR after 2016 and the news in general. They became fixated on repeating their brand slogans, checking their content checkboxes, and slinging shade at anyone not parroting their brand cornerstones. NPR lost my trust.

  5. Gee Brianna – My taxes don't support Daily Wire, NPR does. And Berliner is absolutely right – I've watched NPR and PBS collapse – comparing MacNeil Lehrer with anything today is painful. The New Times and Washington Post have both collapsed.

  6. NPR is mandating that reporters collect race and gender data from all interviewees so it can be entered into their database. That is disturbing . I listen to NPR a decent amount. It is incredible how dishonestly they frame things. They craft their talking points to imply their propaganda but giving themselves an out with clever use of language. They selectively leave out information that isn't helpful to their narrative. All with plausible deniability built in. So dirty.
