13. The "worm" us caused by undercooked pork. However, when it dies it becomes encapsulated and usually causes no problems. It can usually be treated with anti-parasitic medications, but in some cases it can enter the brain and may have to be removed. So it's gone if he had the surgery and there is no reason to make a big deal out of it.
