These issues change continually. Immigration has become a mess and the ingress is overwhelming our ability to handle it safely and financially. Those who think that nothing should be done are supporting chaos. How is that "progressive"? Many older immigrants went through the process legally and resent what has become of immigration process.
Fetterman has not said he is opposed to immigration – he simply wants to stop this chaos. That's not a pivot – that's dealing with new aspects of an old problem.
Same with Israel. Fetterman has always supported Israel and seems to have been opposed to terrorism. Those who are chomping at the bit to attack Israel and embrace Hamas are the ones who have pivoted.
