   Palestine has never been a sovereign nation or tribe of people. Rome changed the name of a region under their control (would be like the Roman Emperor conquering Byzantium from the Greeks & renaming it Constantinople, or the Ottoman Empire conquering Constantinople & renaming it Istanbul.. the renaming is simply a means of removing the historical name connection of the people that inhabited OR conquered previously to a new name connected to the new controllers)
