WATCH LIVE: Former ambassador testifies on Afghanistan withdrawal

Former U.N. ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad is slated to testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee Thursday morning, in a hearing focused on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

Khalilzad is expected to discuss his work as U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation for the Department of State, as well as the U.S.’s strategy in the region between 2018 and 2021.

The event, titled “Behind the Scenes: How the Biden Administration Failed to Enforce the Doha Agreement,” is scheduled for 10 a.m. EST.
