Watch live: House Judiciary Committee holds hearing on antisemitism on college campuses

The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government is holding a hearing to address allegations of antisemitism at institutions of higher learning Wednesday.

Testifying will be two students from Ivy League schools and the leader of the National Jewish Advocacy Center.

The House has previously scrutinized the response to threats against the Jewish community by questioning several university presidents. Following one intense hearing, two prominent university presidents resigned from their positions.

Wednesday’s hearing is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. EDT.

  1. Wouldn't have heard a word about it were protests against white American kids.
The only group that can't have an advocacy group on campus.
Wouldn't have made the news let alone the house floor.

  2. In 44 years I have never met anyone who is anti-Jewish.

I encounter bigotry against just about every other race more than against Jews.

People bend over backwards to be nice to Jewish people.

This is because even smallest slur or infraction will be dramatized, exaggerated, accentuated and focussed upon.

  3. Yo!! We’re having an inquiry about students saying mean things while weapons these crooks voted to send to 1srael in exchange for campaign ‘donations’, are exploding innocent men, women and children to pieces? What a waste of time.

  4. Because people are protesting Israel there’s “rampant anti-semitism?” There’s no real violence against the joos yet. All he did was give examples of protesters making the Joos a little uncomfortable.

  5. Strange how no one seems to remember how many massacres Israel has carried out over the years. conveniently forgotten. Let me remind you. Haifa Massacre1937. Jerusalem Massacre 1937. Haifa Massacre 1938. Balad al-Sheikh Massacre 1939. Haifa Massacre 1939. Haifa Massacre 1947. Abbasiya Massacre 1947. Al-Khisas Massacre 1947. Bab al-Amud Massacre 1947. Jerusalem Massacre 1947. Sheikh Bureik Massacre 1947 Jaffa Massacre 1948. Khan Yunis Massacre 1956. Jerusalem Massacre 1967. Sabra and Shatila Massacre 1982. Al-Aqsa Massacre 1990. Ibrahimi Mosque Massacre 1994. Jenin Refugee Camp April 2002. Gaza Massacre 2008-2009. Gaza Massacre 2012.Gaza Massacre 2014 Gaza Massacre 2018-2019. Gaza Massacre 2021 Gaza Genocide 2023 still ongoing. Israel still keeps stealing Palestinian land and Palestinians still keep fighting to hold on to what is left, while the World does nothing to stop the slaughter.

  6. These dems are unbelievable. They have 4 people testifying about what’s happening to them, and every democrat takes the discussion away from the topic to talk about things that have nothing to do with these witnesses in order to attack republicans. So cynical, transparent, and cold. And they say republicans have no compassion. Even when they were giving rushed lip-service to the students’ difficulty, their faces betrayed them. So disappointing, yet so typical. 🙁

  7. how about let's have a committee on how to take better care of American citizens in general not some special interest group that is running our government

  8. Mr. Cohen was so close when he called out fake outrage, but then truly dropped the ball when conflating anti-Zionist protesters with antisemites and attempting to smear them as uneducated about the history of the region. They clearly have stated they want you clowns to end the war profiting from this conflict.

  9. How very curious that these Rs have never ever given a rat's toosh about antisemitism before this conflict. Like space laser hating MTG rubbing elbows with Nick Foolentes. Tiki torch marches chanting 'J's will not replace us.' Their own congressmen lamenting George Soros conspiracy theories. Such gross and obvious fake outrage designed to blur the line between actual antisemitism and anti-right wing Zionism.

  10. Mr. Roy appears to be unaware that many of the protesters against genocide are, in fact, Jewish. Maybe he is genuinely unaware that a genocide is being carried out. I doubt it.
