Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is expected to announce his choice of running mate Tuesday at an appearance in Oakland, Calif.
Possible choices mentioned by RFK Jr.’s campaign include New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, lawyer and investor Nicole Shanahan and “Dirty Jobs” host Mike Rowe.
The timing of the vice presidential pick comes much earlier in the election year than is typical. Some states require that a candidate specify their running mate to qualify for inclusion on the general election ballot.
The announcement is slated for 2 p.m. EDT.
