I like to joke that one of the benefits of gun reform would be to help protect the left from repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot.
More seriously, there are too many important and deeply complex issues for any one person to cover even more than a few adequately. If everyone only covered the agreed upon "most important" issues, then a huge swath of issues would simply have no coverage.
That means we have to choose our pet issues. And the part the left seems to struggle with is remembering that other issues besides the ones we deem important are important too and also warrant coverage.
