A Sunbeam V8 Tiger is not a common sight, but this is one of the coolest little cars we’ve seen in a long time! We LOVE how Serious of a punch this little car had! Pushing 525hp out of a Ford Racing Engine in a car that weighs in near that of a 1st generation Mazda Miata is a truly capable combination! Lining up against Vipers, Bikes, Camaro’s and more, this little Sunbeam tiger wasn’t scared of any competition as it made several passes down Rantoul Aviation Center’s Airstrip during Omega Motorsport’s NoFlyZone Midwest event!

It may have not been fastest that day but it was the best looking car there.
Dubbed the poor man's Cobra this was one of the scary fastest cars ever I don't know I drove one
The only car ,to lose was the mustang.
Nice Tiger ❤
I owned a stock 1967 Sunbeam Tiger and always had problems with heat in the passenger cabin. How do you deal with the heat of 525HP?
Is that curt bowland?
Bump up the cubic inches.
There's a white with black roof tiger sitting up against the fence in the property that backs on to my dad's orchard, among other cool stuff from various eras,as a kid in the late seventies I used climb a tree to peer over at the tiger,,being a new car still at the time and still in good condition,as the years progressed it got worse and worse,I didn't look at it for about 12-13 years and then I went back to have a quick look and was heartbroken to see it still there and the other cars,a dolomite sprint and an XJ12 among them, and now beyond saving, the interior was now exposed and it was at the point of the shell literally falling apart, what remains is still there,my father says that nobody ever goes out to that part of their garden save to abandon another car,I stopped looking 20 years ago,I can't bring my self to look so it's probably just a pile now. Such a waste ,the owners have more money than sense.
Yep, one fast Tiger (rare). Love me small British cars-American V8s (avatar is my SBC '64 MGB)
it was SOOOO fun to watch this Tiger keep up with the current hot rods
the little car that could ?
So SMOKED that new 'Stang;! Agent 86 KNEW how to defeat KAOS!!! (but, not in the Volkswagen…) LMAO
Agent 86 Maxwell Smart could have used this car to escape KAOS on more than one occasion!
I'm surprised there wasn't one mention that this car is another genius creation of Carol Shelby and crew. They used to nickname this car the "Poor Man's Cobra", but with the prices these days, not anymore! Love that old British styling too! Beautiful car!
0:18 "…if your not much of a car guy."
Pretty Awesome!
For a +50-year-old car, it's damned fast. A lot of modern cars can't outrun that little bastard. 🙂
It's a bit unruly to drive due to the short wheel base but that makes it just even more of a thrill.
These cars bring a lot of money these days look them up
Great Sunbeam Tiger! I think i'd go with an aluminum headed 427 windsor based stroker engine and get it up too 700+ rwhp without much weight gain and see how good the little Tiger does. ! Haha. Like his trailer too!
Yeah the little Sunbeam tiger is a fast little car I had a couple of them. they will do a hundred and fifty miles an hour and more. They will run the Sunbeam Alpine in the ground.
British car with British styling with ford and AC and the powerful 2nd gen versions even had Shelby cobra engine Jenson interceptor was quite similar aswell
A twin turbo coyote with a corvette transaxle and suspention swap would make this thing a real weapon
There was a ROW, a whole row of these at Hilton Head Concours last weekend. Even a 1-of-1 fastback version. I was going to buy one that was sitting in a yard in 1997 in Exeter, PA, but it was really rusty. It did have the complete Ford engine. When I opened the door, it fell off, and there was no top, so years of weather had hit the floor and interior…
