Where is the government? They should be protecting us. Selling cars with no airbags intentionally should be a crime. I guess insurance and auction companies wouldn't like that because if it was, cars wouldn't sell that easy at auctions.

same thing happened to me recently. the salvage company hid the blown airbags
At my dealership we do that all the time, kind of have to when driving the car in and out from the workshop and so on. But here insurance companies either repair cars or scrap them, they dont sell them to regular people to do whatever with =)

I used to work for a dealer and we would doctor cars as you say all the time to make them look better. Block of wood where the steering wheel airbag is and glue it back together. You would never know the airbag was blown. Just put the car back together the best you can so can maximize profit.
most salvage titled cars are really just for reusable parts, not really to fix and drive again as its not safe
